Following the 6th anniversary of Yuri!!! On Ice, MAPPA has made a pivotal adjustment to the original image of their special illustration. After sharing the original image on social media, many sharp observers from the fandom shared their concern online for the critical detail missing from Victor Nikiforov’s right hand. In response, fans had immediately pointed out the missing golden rings from the anime’s 10th episode, in which Victor and Yuri had exchanged in Barcelona, Spain before the Grand Prix Final.

Now, MAPPA has rereleased their anniversary image on Twitter, adding the missing golden ring to Victor’s finger. The anniversary poster highlights Yuri and Victor at an event, with paparazzi surrounding them as Victor places his arm over Yuri’s shoulder with his Makkachin tissue box resting on his opposite arm. The image also pays a short nod to the COVID-19 pandemic, as the paparazzi and the beloved ice skating couple are shown wearing a mask. View the updated image below:

Despite the studio revising for the absence of the integral piece of jewelry, MAPPA has continued to render their comments off with many citing that they may be avoiding the fans’ plea to release Yuri On Ice: Ice Adolescence. Initially set to premiere in 2019, the highly-anticipated film was delayed due to the production’s decision to significantly scale up the contents of the film. Although the exact release details of Ice Adolescence continue to remain undisclosed, the fandom can now blissfully celebrate the 6th anniversary of Yuri!!! On Ice, with MAPPA fully embracing the cherished couple.
