Warning! Spoilers for Nightwing’s ongoing series at DC Comics below.

DC Comics has given Nightwing a brand new updated look, and the acrobatic hero has never looked better. On Thursday, Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo, the creative team behind the current ongoing Nightwing series at DC Comics, revealed the hero’s new look, which streamlines and updates his iconic costume in a way that truly makes Dick Grayson shine.

Taylor, Redondo, Adriano Lucas, and Wes Abbott’s run on Nightwing have taken the hero to new heights, as Dick Grayson returned to Bludhaven to make the city a better place. After inheriting more money than he could ever use from Alfred Pennyworth, Dick has decided to make every dollar count, as he’s committed to improving Bludhaven for those who need it most. Along the way, he’s rekindled his romance with Barbara Gordon, discovered he has a secret sister who’s connected to a mobster, and battled a brutal villain named Heartless, who more than lives up to his name.

DC Comics revealed Nightwing’s new redesign, showcasing what the hero will wear in future adventures of his series. Starting in Nightwing #88, Dick Grayson will sport an updated suit that’s tied to both his past and future. The look is highlighted by finger stripes, which Nightwing previously wore in some of his older ensembles. Additional blue accents are now of his shoes as well. As for his logo, the blue eagle is positioned higher up than previous versions of his suit. The back of the suit features lines that aren’t pre-curved, but instead are curved by his muscles. Another small change is his suit’s neck has a more pronounced v-shape than before. Take a closer look at the suit below.

While Nightwing’s new suit might not seem like a massive change, the redesign improves on what was already a great costume. It looks sleeker while bringing back Dick Grayson’s iconic blue stripes. Redondo and co. have now hit two home runs in costume redesigns, as he also redesigned Barbara Gordon’s Batgirl suit, which recently debuted in the ongoing Fear State arc.

Taylor, Redondo, Lucas, and Abbott have already carved out one of the greatest runs on Nightwing, despite only being on the title for a relatively small time. Unsurprisingly, the new look for Nightwing is spot on and should please both new and old fans alike. Readers can see the new costume in action where Nightwing #88 comes to comic book stores on January 18, 2022.
