In a title like Nioh 2, everything is out to kill you. When exploring the game, players will encounter these creatures hidden behind crates. Players can usually find the Scampuss right before a Yokai fight so look around the area until you find one.  Once the player does locate them, the Scampuss Yokai will join the player on their journey after petting them for a limited time. There are a few things the Scampuss can do to better enhance the experience for the player. Here is how the Scampuss Yokai works in Nioh 2.

How The Scampuss Yokai Works in Nioh 2

When the Scampuss joins the player, they will be able to help in certain combat situations. For starters, they can attack enemies directly and act as a distraction while the player decides to punish or run away. When the Scampuss finds the Dark Realm, they will puff up like a spiky balloon to attack enemies. The damage the Scampuss does isn’t much, but it is ultimately better than nothing. It’s also nice to have a companion to join you while you explore this dangerous world. Not only that, but the Scampuss with speed up hope long it takes for the player’s Anime meter to fill up. When the bar is empty, the Scampuss will disappear so make sure to keep that meter full to keep them around.

The Scampuss is the light in an otherwise dark game. The ability to interact with pets in video games goes such a long way in sucking the player into that world. Even in a game like Nioh 2 where death is around every corner, the Scampuss is there to bring a bit of positivity to the player’s experience.
