A fan of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time has reimagined the Forest Temple, one of the game’s most iconic levels in miniature form. The charming diorama is just one of countless unique, tactile pieces of art generated by fans of this seminal title over the years.

As the first 3D Legend of Zelda game, Ocarina of Time had to make a big splash when it was released back in 1998. Luckily for Nintendo, it did just that and has since been lauded as one of the best and most influential adventure games of all time. The game is remembered and praised for a number of reasons: its simple yet charming art style, its soundtrack, its inventive approach to storytelling and structure, and, perhaps most definitively, Ocarina of Time‘s many dungeons. Players spend a meaty chunk of their time traversing and wrestling with these themed interior spaces, solving puzzles, and soaking in the robust visual storytelling on display. Because of Nintendo’s attention to detail and ingenuity when designing these levels, many fans of the game will often cite these areas as being the most memorable parts of the experience. As most gamers probably know, dungeons would remain as a staple across all Legend of Zelda games following Ocarina of Time.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

A Reddit user by the name of _edlothian_ appears to have taken a particular affinity to Ocarina of Time‘s Forest Temple. To show their appreciation for this historic video game level, _edlothian_ crafted a meticulously detailed diorama of the sacred space. Hallways and stairways have been almost perfectly recreated, and instantly recognizable series monsters like the infamous Ocarina of Time Skulltula and the Wallmaster also make a (somewhat unsettling) appearance.

Looking at _edlothian_’s other posts, it appears that this Zelda fan has crafted other dioramas and novelty goods themed after the best-selling franchise. This should come as no surprise to anyone checking out this most recent creation, as it certainly displays a level of talent and finesse that would require a good amount of artistic experience. Who knows what _edlothian_ might work on in the future, but any upcoming creations will no doubt maintain the same impressive level of craftsmanship as this one.

_edlothian_’s Forest Temple diorama should also remind fans of just how important dungeons are in Zelda games. One of the more common criticisms leveled at the beloved Breath of the Wild has to do with its lack of themed temples and dungeons. While this new direction for the series has come with undeniable improvements, there are surely plenty of fans who, like _edlothian_, have a soft spot for the levels found in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
