One Piece: Usopp is Key To Defeating Kaido’s Cannon Fodders

Since the beginning of One Piece, Monkey D. Luffy has been expanding his crew. With Rorona Zoro being his first-ever crewmate, Luffy has formed the Straw Hat Pirates. They sail the seas together and continue to expand their crew. They’ve got almost all the positions covered with Jimbei joining them as the helmsman and the crew’s newest addition. At present, the Straw Hats’ main crew is ten people strong, but there are thousands of other pirates who have sworn to follow him and come to him should he need them to. They call themselves the Straw Hat Fleet.

Usopp, the Straw Hats’ sniper, is part of the coward trio. Other members include Nami and Chopper. Even so, he’s one of the fan favorites who has earned the moniker “God Usopp”. The fandom even jokes that Usopp has also inherited the Will of D. like Monkey D. Luffy, Gol D. Roger, and Marshall D. Teach and turns his moniker into Go D. Usopp. Of course, this is just for fun and non-canon. Nevertheless, Usopp is actually useful on the battlefield and is also quite strong. It’s even said that his current physical strength is at pre-time skip Zoro’s level. His sniping skills have also saved the Straw Hats a lot of times.

While Luffy, Law, Kid, Zoro, and Killer are fighting Big Mom and Kaido, the others are fighting their underlings. Battles are raging everywhere, and both sides are about equally matched. However, the other Straw Hats are finding themselves in a pinch against the Beasts Pirates’ higher-ranking members. Then, there is also the problem with the huge amount of SMILE users in the Beasts Pirates. Early on, Tama was able to tame Hihimaru and some Gifters by giving them kibi dangos. Using the dangos Tama generated using her Devil Fruit as ammunition, Usopp turns a lot of SMILE users to their side. They even manage to trick Sasaki by pretending to bring more Gifters that can help him finish the Straw Hats. However, these Gifters have already eaten Tama’s dangos and are under her control. Usopp then uses the dangos Tama has premade and feeds even more Gifters.

With Usopp’s accuracy, most, if not all, of Tama’s dangos will hit its target. Of course, that is true only if nothing will interfere with its course. Nonetheless, Tama and Usopp is the best combination against the Beast Pirates.

Even though it’s not yet known whether or not Tama’s Devil Fruit can also tame those who have eaten legitimate Zoan Devil Fruits, whittling down the Gifters’ numbers is more than enough help. Even though Tama can only produce a certain number of dangos, it’s still a force to be reckoned with. Perhaps she will even be a major force in Wano Country in One Piece‘s future updates.
