The Devil Fruits from One Piece have been completely reimagined as incredible Stands in new fan art that examines how  Paramecia-type users would hold up as Stand users in the world of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure.

Devil Fruits are an essential part of One Piece‘s power system that hold unique attributes transferable to those who consume them. During this process, a Devil Fruit can completely change a person’s Lineage Factor (or DNA) and grant them special abilities based on their Devil Fruits’ name. There are three types of Devil Fruits: Zoan- an animal hybrid power, Logia-power over the elements, and Paramecia, the control over natural matter. Paramecia Devil Fruits are the most common amongst the three; however, all Devil Fruits forfeit a user’s ability to swim and other limitations depending on the ability. In addition, Devil Fruit powers have a level of range attacks similar to Stands in terms of fighting range, which begs the question of what would happen if these supernatural fruits manifested in the Jojo world?

Artist @K164 brought this idea to life in an original work of fan art that recreates the Paramecia Devil Fruits and one Logia Devil Fruit as humanoid Stands. Boa Hancock’s Love-Love Devil Fruit is now a slim pink Stand with hearts and arrows representing the fruit’s ability to turn those who lust over her into stone. The Mochi Mochi Fruit, a combination of dough and ice cream, takes inspiration from the Stand Weather Report from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 6 and fashion advice from Yoshikage Kira’s Stand Killer Queen. The Flower-Flower Devil Fruit Stand mirrors Giorno’s Golden Wind Stand as both powers take or mirror nature. Finally, the String-String Devil Fruit Stand not only shares a similar string ability to Jolyne’s Stand Stone Free, but both are rocking stylish sunglasses.

Crocodile’s Sand-Sand Devil Fruit is a Logia-type fruit that controls sand; however, his new Stand resembles the Jojo Part 3 Stand Anubus after the Egyptian God of the dead. As for fighting techniques, Paramecia users are diverse in their abilities, causing range attacks to depend on the strengths and weaknesses of the Devil Fruit. The same can be said for Stands, making Devil Fruits easily transferable as the power systems share similar attributes. For example, Doflamingo’s String-String powers grant him sharp strings that are only as great as his creativity because of the Devil Fruits’ flexibility in close range and long-range attacks. Jolyne’s Stone Free Stand is also a robust, versatile Stand that allows her to be more creative in battles and stealth with the ability to unravel her body into strings.

Much like Stands, Devil Fruits also go through their awakening process. Stands can manifest new abilities based on a users’ growth or by hitting a Stand with the Arrowhead. Likewise, Devil Fruits have an awakening process granting new powers, something Katakuri and Doflamingo have already mastered. Overall, the power of Devil Fruits and Stands could easily exist in either the worlds of One Piece or Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure; however, imagining Devil Fruits as personality-filled Stands is what makes the fan art so enjoyable.
