The seventh season of the hit primetime teen drama, One Tree Hill, kicks off with another time jump as the show fast forwards to a year after Lucas and Peyton have left Tree Hill to travel with their young daughter.

This season shows Nathan and Hayley struggling to balance Nathan’s career and a family tragedy on Hayley’s side of the family that sends her into a depression. 10 You Are A Runner, And I Am My Father’s Son (8.2)

Millicent has transitioned into a new career path as a model and as she finds success in the industry, her behavior gets worse and worse. In this episode, it all comes to a head when Mouth realizes Millicent is doing drugs and Victoria calls the police on Millicent after she gets behind the wheel of a car, drunk.

When Millicent is arrested, she turns to Brooke for help, but Brooke refuses to see who Millicent has become and not willing to bail her out for her bad behavior.

9 You Know I Love You, Don’t You (8.3)

Newcomer in town Alex seems to always find a way to get in between Brooke and Julian’s relationship, and Brooke’s anxiety around the new girl in town increases with each episode.

Brooke is dealing with a lot after learning she may never be able to have children, which she nervously tells Julian and he supports her, but then turns and tells Alex who makes her knowledge of their personal situation known. Julian tells Alex she has to stay away from him and she doesn’t take his words very well.

8 My Attendance Is Bad But My Intentions Are Good (8.3)

This episode drops a major family bomb on Hayley and her sisters, Quinn and Taylor. Lydia, the James’ family matriarch reveals to her daughters, Hayley and Quinn, that she has very aggressive pancreatic cancer and is not seeking treatment, which means she doesn’t have much longer to live.

The sisters are devastated. Hayley turns to her husband, Nathan for support while Quinn finds comfort in Clay, who does his best to be there for her.

7 I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight (8.5)

The boys decide to spend a weekend out in nature, so Nathan, Julian, Mouth, Skills, Jamie, and Chuck head out on a camping trip, leaving the girls on their own with their own special weekend plans.

Clay doesn’t go on the camping trip as he struggles with the loss of his wife, who passed away before Clay came to tree hill. Quinn tries her best to be there for Clay as she seems him in mourning and wants to support him because she loves him.

6 Don’t You Forget About Me (8.5)

An 80’s alumni dance at Tree Hill High School sends the cast and this episode back in time and it seems Tree Hill has become a John Hughes movie. In addition to the big dance, it is also Hayley’s birthday, which everyone has seemed to forget, including Nathan who is stuck in Atlanta with Clay.

Also, Jamie finds himself “Home Alone” and experiences his own throwback to a classic film when he attempts some Kevin McAllister-like pranks.

5 Family Affair (8.6)

Quinn has moved on from her marriage to her ex-husband, David and their divorce is finally settled. As Quinn starts to adjust to her new life in Tree Hill and falls for Clay, drama ensues when Quinn’s sister, Taylor shows up at family dinner with David.

Quinn, understandably, feels betrayed by her sister and also confused because she wants her ex-husband to move on, but didn’t expect or want it to be with her sister. David and Taylor rub their relationship in Quinn’s face until David realizes he’s only with Taylor to get to Quinn and he ends the relationship.

4 Some Roads Lead Nowhere (8.7)

Alex attempts suicide, but in this episode, Julian finds her just in time and rushes her to the hospital, saving her life. Julian tells Brooke that he loves her, but that he wants to make the movie with Alex, knowing Brooke won’t be comfortable with the idea.

As Nathan, Hayley, and Jamie prepare for their move to Barcelona, which Jamie isn’t too happy about, Clay figures out a way to potentially save he and Nathan’s careers and keep Nathan playing in the U.S.

3 Almost Everything I Wish I’d Said The Last Time I Saw You (8.7)

In the season finale, the gang all head to Utah for Julian’s film premiere, including Hayley, who is still struggling with her depression, but a trip with her loved ones seems to help her heal.

After Julian’s movie is well-received, he uses the joyous momentum and proposes to Brooke. Once back at Clay’s beach house, Clay and Quinn are attacked by Katie, Clay’s stalker who has been posing as his dead ex-wife. Katie shoots both Clay and Quinn and leaves them for dead.

2 The Last Day Of Our Acquaintance (8.9)

Brooke makes a big mistake when she assumes Julian and Alex slept together and she shows up on the set of their movie and hits Alex, causing a scene and getting herself thrown off set, only to learn Alex slept with Alexander, not Julian.

Clay turns down a potential client named Katie, who looks a lot like his ex-wife and when she finds that out, Katie decides to take advantage of it. The James sisters prepare to say goodbye to their mother as her cancer worsens.

1 I And Love And You (9.1)

A woman comes forward claiming to be pregnant with Nathan’s baby, which leaves Nathan’s entire life in danger of being completely dismantled. Nathan insists her claims are false, but Dan wants to get to the bottom of it so he invites the woman, Renee, onto his talk show.

This puts Nathan even more on edge because of course, Dan must be up to something, which he is, but this time what Dan does actually works in Nathan’s favor.
