The stars of One Tree Hill reunite in Sophia Bush’s new show titled Good Sam. The new family medical drama stars Bush as Dr. Samantha Griffith, a top surgeon at Lakeshore Sentinel Hospital who runs into trouble when her father, played by Jason Isaacs, awakes from a coma and vies for his previous spot as a top surgeon. The series follows the swaying tensions between the father-daughter duo in a competitive hospital setting. Good Sam was created by Katie Wech and premiered on CBS on January 7th, 2022.

Bush previously starred in the teen drama series, One Tree Hill on the CW. The hit series follows another family-centered conflict when Lucas Scott (Chad Michael Murray) transfers to the same school as his half-brother Nathan (James Lafferty) and joins the same basketball team. She played popular cheerleader Brooke Davis, who remained a leading cast member throughout its nine-season run. At the start of the series, Bethany Joy Lenz plays Haley James, Lucas’s best friend, and Hilarie Burton plays Peyton Sawyer, Nathan’s girlfriend. The three actresses have been long-time friends since the end of the series in 2012 and have since started a podcast called Drama Queens.

Now, TV Line has an exclusive look at the One Tree Hill stars reunion in a new episode of Good Sam, starring Bush. Lenz and Burton join Bush on Wednesday, March 23rd, in an episode titled “Keep Talking.” Burton plays Gretchen, who brings her sister, Amy (Lenz), to the hospital, who is believed to have premature heart disease. Bush’s Dr. Griffith soon discovers that there may be more under the surface than they had initially thought.

The episode marks the first time Lenz, Burton, and Bush have been seen together on screen since Burton left One Tree Hill during its sixth season. The show has seen a brief revival in popularity, with many teen shows receiving the reboot treatment like Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars, and Degrassi. With the 2000s aesthetic becoming more popular among young people, the reunion ignites fans to tune into the new medical drama and dive back into the original series as well.

Good Sam has generally received positive reviews from audiences and is currently CBS’s only medical drama airing. With Bush serving as one of the producers on the show, the production environment welcomes reunions like this one as an approving nod to fans. Bush previously made waves after revealing how uncomfortable the One Tree Hill environment could be. The new CBS drama seems to be a step forward for Bush in creating content that she has a say in the community of production. Fans can tune into Good Sam on Wednesday, March 23rd at 10 pm.
