The Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre photos and poster reveal Jason Statham’s new spy thriller reuniting him with writer/director Guy Ritchie. The story revolves around super spy Orson Fortune as he and his team recruit Hollywood movie star Danny Francesco for help on an undercover mission to prevent billionaire arms broker Greg Simmonds from selling deadly new weapons technology to the wrong hands. Ritchie directs the film on a script he co-wrote with Ivan Atkinson and Marn Davies.

Jason Statham is set to lead the cast of Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre as the titular super spy alongside Josh Hartnett as Danny Francesco, Aubrey Plaza, Bugzy Malone, Cary Elwes and Hugh Grant. Development on the film was first announced in late 2020 when Ritchie was set to direct the film under its original title, Five Eyes, with Statham attached to star, Miramax set to produce and STXfilms set to distribute the project. Production on Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre kicked off in Turkey earlier this year and now audiences are getting their first glimpse at the spy thriller.

With just a month remaining until the film’s release, Aubrey Plaza took to Twitter to share the first Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre photos and poster. The images and key art offer the first look at the new Jason Statham-led spy thriller from Guy Ritchie and confirms a trailer for the film is set to drop on Thursday. The Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre photos and poster offer a stylish first look at the upcoming spy thriller, namely its star-studded cast. The film marks the fifth collaboration between Statham and Ritchie following their respective debuts in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch, as well as the poorly received Revolver and their recent action heist hit Wrath of Man. The latter film also saw the start of Josh Hartnett’s partnership with the filmmaker, with their newest film seemingly keeping him on the heroic side of the story again as he teams with Statham’s titular spy.

It should also come as an exciting first look to see Aubrey Plaza as a slick and deadly partner to Statham in the Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre photos and poster. Though the actress got the chance to flex her range of talent with FX’s Legion and the dark comedy thriller Black Bear, the new film looks to be her first proper stint in the action genre, which could prove an interesting new avenue for the fan-favorite star. Only time will tell when the Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre trailer arrives on Thursday followed by a theatrical release on January 21.
