A new teaser for Moon Knight shows Oscar Isaac’s hero fighting with a mysterious creature. Moon Knight, which will premiere on Disney+ on March 30, 2022, is the first live-action MCU series to come to the streaming service that is introducing a new Marvel hero rather than focusing in on a character already established in the films. The series was created by Jeremy Slater and will feature four episodes directed by Mohamed Diab along with two by directing duo Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, who were recently tapped to direct episodes of the upcoming Loki season 2.

Moon Knight will star Oscar Isaac as the titular hero, one of the multiple identities of unassuming British shop worker Steven Grant. Grant’s life will begin to crumble around him when he begins to learn of the existence of his alter ego, mercenary Marc Spector, and channel the powers of the Egyptian god Khonshu. The series also stars Lucy Thackeray as Steven’s coworker Donna, May Calamawy as former Spector associate Layla El-Faouly, F. Murray Abraham as the voice of Khonshu, Ethan Hawke as cult leader Arthur Harrow, and the late Gaspard Ulliel as Midnight Man.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Today, Marvel dropped a brand new ad spot for Moon Knight titled “Choice.” The 30-second spot shows off a lot of new footage, including a battle between Moon Knight and an unidentified creature as they leap through the air. It also shows a deeper look at Oscar Isaac’s multiple characters interacting, as his Steven Grant alter grapples with the other identities that may or may not be living inside him. The monster in the teaser looks somewhat similar to the Deviants from another Phase 4 MCU project, Eternals, which came to theaters last Fall. It seems clear from the creature’s slightly different design that it is not in fact a Deviant, but what is currently unknown is its function in the story. Whether this battle is just one adventure of many across the show’s six-episode run or if these creatures will proliferate and be a major part of the show’s villain’s ultimate plan remain to be seen.

Moon Knight is slowly divulging more and more of its story beats in the lead-up to its release in just over a week. Unfortunately, the close proximity of the premiere means that this is likely the last new footage that will get shared before the big day. However, the wait is almost over for this next chapter in Phase 4 to begin, showing audiences what they can expect from the MCU in 2022.
