Parks and Recreation came with seven seasons of pure joy from the Pawnee Parks and Rec. Department. With Leslie Knope as the department’s fearless leader, she led the way for many of her followers and co-workers. With the likes of Ron, April, and Ann by her side, the Pawnee Parks and Rec. Department was one of the best governmental departments in the area.

There were some pretty iconic moments over the course of seven seasons, of course. From engagements to meltdowns to Jerry being Jerry, there are too many golden moments to count. With that being said, we’re taking a look at 10 of the best scenes in Parks and Rec.’s tenure.

10 When Leslie & Ron Were Locked In The Office Together

It was a sad moment when fans found out that Ron and Leslie were no longer on speaking terms in the seventh season. After Leslie took most of the parks and rec. department with her when she became a councilwoman, she left Ron in the dust. He felt as if Leslie outgrew their friendship and he started a new business that interferes with Leslie’s building plans.

In the episode “Leslie and Ron,” Ben locks Leslie and Ron in the parks and rec. department’s office until they fought it out, explained their sides and became best friends again. It took an excruciating amount of time but it worked, much to fans’ happiness.

9 Lil Sebastian’s Goodbye Song

Lil Sebastian is a Pawnee icon. A miniature horse, Lil Sebastian made appearances around the are and was beloved by fans (especially those in the parks and rec. department). Sadly, he died in season three, leading to the parks and rec. department throwing a memorial service in his honor.

The service was massive and filled with poems, a memorial video, and an eternal flame. Andy ended the service with a special song about Lil Sebastian’s life.

8 When Ben Proposes To Leslie

An ongoing storyline in Parks and Recreation was the relationship between Leslie and Ben. What started as contempt for one another turned into a secret love affair that no one could know about. The minute Leslie and Ben decide to go public with their relationship was the moment fans were waiting for. What’s better, however, was when they got engaged.

After doing long distance for months, Ben came back to Pawnee and surprised Leslie with a proposal. Seeing how choked up the two of them got was the perfect ending for their long-running relationship.

7 Treat Yo Self!

As great of a duo as Leslie and Ron—and even Leslie and Ann—are, it was always fun seeing Donna and Tom get together for their “treat yo self” days.

Whenever the two needed some cheering up, they would cancel their plans and have an entire day dedicated to pampering themselves. They didn’t say no to anything and hearing them say “treat yo self” to every possibility was iconic.

6 Ron & Tammy 2 In Jail

Fans were warned about Ron’s addiction to Tammy 2 early on but no one knew how bad it was until they rekindled their relationship. The best moment between Ron and Tammy 2 has to be when they began making out at a diner and ended up getting married and ending up in jail.

By the time Leslie came to the rescue, Ron had cornrows and missing eyebrows but was in such lust he didn’t care. No one brought out that side of Ron except for Tammy 2, which is what made their scenes so hilarious together.

5 Leslie & Ann Going Head To Head

No one expected Leslie and Ann to ever get in an argument, but after too many drinks at the Snakehole Lounge, Ann and Leslie had it out for each other.

It all started when a job opened up in city hall that Leslie thought Ann would be perfect for. Instead of taking the job opportunity seriously, Ann went to the Snakehole Lounge to have fun. Leslie became irate that Ann was drinking instead of preparing for the interview, which spiraled into a drunken argument that made little to no sense.

4 Burt Macklin And Janet Snakehole

Burt Macklin is Andy’s alter ego. He’s a former FBI agent with a dark past and is out to solve crime in secret. We see Burt Macklin in his prime when he’s playing around with April or when he’s protecting Leslie Knope on her campaign trail.

One of the best Burt Macklin moments, however, is when we first meet him at the Snakehole Lounge. He and April decide to role play, with him being Burt Macklin and April being “Janet Snakehole.” The hilarious role-play experiment looked like more fun than the actual party.

3 Ben Vs. Leslie In ‘The Debate’

After Leslie and Ben called off their relationship so that Leslie could run for city council with a clear conscious, they decided to remain friends with no strings attached. However, unresolved feelings for each other became glaringly obvious when the two took part in a Model UN debate with local high school students.

Ben became annoyed that Leslie couldn’t commit to the debate fully and took charge against her nation of Denmark. In return, Leslie became pissed that Ben was acting out against her and pulled all the stops so that she would come out on top. Sadly, their personal feelings for each other got in the way of the Model UN and the kids ended up not having fun or learning at all.

2 That Dreaded Ice Rink

When news broke out that Leslie and Ben we’re having inapt relations as governing figures, her run for city council flopped. Her managers pulled out, leaving Leslie to run without their help.

With the helping hands of the parks and recreation department, Leslie threw a meet-and-greet at a local ice rink. Unfortunately for her, they were unaware they would be on ice and everyone had a slippery time getting to the podium for Leslie’s speech. Hearing the song “Get On Your Feet” play every time Leslie got closer to the podium is a moment stuck in time for many Parks and Rec. fans.

1 When Jerry’s ‘Mugged’

Jerry is mercilessly picked on throughout Parks and Recreation. And while he doesn’t deserve being bullied, it’s hard not to laugh at how clumsy he is.

In one episode, Jerry came back to the office with his arm in a sling. He told everyone he was mugged in the park, which horrified Leslie as it’s her job to keep the parks safe. As it turned out, though, Jerry wasn’t mugged at all. He slipped in a creek after dropping his burrito. He lied about the mugging because he knew he would be picked on at work, which is incredibly sad when you think about it.
