There are a lot of positive things you can say about Ron Swanson on Parks and Rec. He’s an honest, forthright man who believes everyone should be treated equally and fairly. Unfortunately, his taste in women had proven to be horrifyingly bad up until he met and married Diane Lewis.

He had a blind spot for women named Tammy, which is why he ended marrying two of them. One of those women he even married twice. Both Tammy I and Tammy II were terrifying human-like beings that delighted in manipulating Ron. But each one of them was the worst in their own, special ways.

10 TAMMY II: Makes Ron Deranged

When Ron is around Tammy II, he becomes a sex-crazed maniac who makes impressively bad decisions that take impulsiveness to a new level. The last time he fell into her clutches, he got cornrows and started wearing a dirty kimono everywhere, even to the office.

He also wore off a portion of his mustache from, as he put it, friction. Tammy II’s main weapon is sex, one she wields it with a shocking amount of confidence and skill.

9 TAMMY I: Makes Ron Tedious

The effect Tammy I has on Ron is the polar opposite of Tammy II. When she exerts her influence on Ron, he becomes possibly the most boring person on the planet. Tammy I’s control is absolute and covers all aspects of Ron’s life.

Ron had to ask her permission to have lunch with Leslie, which Tammy I only allowed as long as she was there, too. She even convinced Ron to shave his personality defining mustache.

8 TAMMY II: Works At The Library

If you knew nothing else about Tammy II other than the fact she worked at the library, that would be enough to hate her. The only member of the Parks and Rec team in Pawnee who didn’t hate the library was Anne Perkins.

Everyone officially in the department hated the book jockeys across the street with a fiery passion, probably because they were in competition over a variety of projects.

7 TAMMY I: Literal Gold Digger

Calling Tammy I a gold digger would not be some sort of euphemism for her being with Ron only for his money. Ron was notorious for not trusting banks, instead choosing to hide the majority of his reputedly vast wealth by burying stashes of gold around Pawnee.

Tammy I finished her only appearance in Pawnee by revealing that she had dug up some of that gold. Fortunately for Ron, it was only a tiny portion of his fortune.

6 TAMMY II: Lack Of Underwear

Unsurprisingly, Tammy II rarely, if ever, wears underwear. One can only assume that this allowed her to disrobe as quickly as possible when taking down a target like a cheetah on a gazelle. Well, if the cheetah wore pants and was trying to have sex with the gazelle.

Regardless, Tammy made good use of her lack of basement furnishings at a woodworking award event by flashing Ron in an attempt to break him and Diane up.

5 TAMMY I: Was There When Ron Was Born

This is not an exaggeration in the least. Tammy I was a candy striper at the hospital Ron was born in and was even present for his birth. She may also have been present at the birth of Tammy II. She was also both of their Sunday School teachers.

The town the three of them were born and raised in was extremely small, likely leading to a lot of strange crossovers in people’s lives like this.

4 TAMMY II: Fought Leslie

On the night Ron received a major woodworking award for a chair he made, Tammy II showed up and tried to drive a wedge between him and Diane. Leslie Knope went into full “Self-Appointed Ron Swanson Emotional Guardian” mode.

She essentially kidnapped Tammy II, then ended up fighting her in a dumpster that was seemingly in the middle of a field. The end result of their battle was Tammy II trapping Leslie in the trunk of Ron’s car.

3 TAMMY I: Faked An Audit

Tammy I worked for the IRS, a job which fit her fastidious nature. It also allowed her a great deal of power over people, including Ron. She actually faked an audit to get back into Ron’s life and steal some of his gold.

This was the type of cold, calculating move she was infamous for. Her nature and ability to command people were the reasons April Ludgate hoped Tammy I was her real mother, one of a few times that came up.

2 TAMMY II: Manipulated Tom And Jamm

Tom Haverford was once involved in green card marriage to a Canadian woman. When the marriage ended, Ron started dating her which bummed Tom right out. To get back at him, Tom started dating Tammy II.

In reality, this all fell into Tammy II’s plan to make Ron jealous and get back together with him. She did the same thing to Jeremy Jamm later on in another attempt to manipulate Ron. Tom got out of it with only a beating from Tammy II. She almost killed Jamm trying to make him into Ron.

1 TAMMY I: Tammy II Is Scared Of Her

Possibly the most horrifying thing about Tammy I was the fact that Tammy II was actually afraid of her. That’s saying a lot because up until that point, no one was certain Tammy II could feel human emotions like fear.
