The siege on Gray Garrison marks the finale of Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous’ first chapter. While exploring the first floor, players may encounter a seemingly musical statue puzzle, similar to the other puzzles across Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. This is somewhat of a red herring, as the musical notes are a decoy and the real solution is in reference to the divine entities of Golarion.

Those who rush into Gray Garrison in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous may be a bit confused by the statue puzzle on its own. It hints at many background and optional interactions around Kenabres, particularly the museum inside Estrod Tower. Players wanting to better understand the context of the puzzle may want to make a spare save while inside the tower, before talking to anyone or destroying anything of value.

Once the siege on Gray Garrison has started, players cannot adjust their party composition. If an unfit party is brought, it may be near suicidal to even approach the statue puzzle and fight the monsters guarding it. Skulking around and picking locks is best left to agile companions like Woljif or Camellia, while actually slaying demons is best left to Seelah, Lann, or Wenduag. The first two will even be able to directly utilize the puzzle’s main rewards.

Acquiring the Prayer Scroll in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous

During the siege of the Gray Garrison in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, players will start in the western pantry of the first floor. They will be directed to the second level balcony, and then back down to the first floor central wing. A small chapel can be found on the west end of this area, past a number of traps. Inside, a succubus has enthralled seven crusaders to her side. By passing a dialogue check, at least three of them can be freed from the spell.

Either way, a fight will break out between the party and anyone still under the succubus’ control. It is a good idea to dispatch the remaining crusaders quickly and concentrate on the demon since she is a level 9 with many resistances and command of magic. Seelah’s Smite Evil will be very useful for defeating the succubus.

After the battle, players will be able to loot the Prayer Scroll from the west altar. It tells the story of Imoedae and her angels blessing Queen Galfrey and names six major figures, which is key to solving the puzzle. Inside the room itself will be six statues. Those who did explore the Estrod Tower may recognize them from the paintings, other statues, and the tower’s NPC spirits. From west to east, they are the following spiritual icons:

  • North Row: Woman in armor holding sword and shield (Galfrey), Man in robes holding a staff (Zacharius of Kenabres), Woman in armor holding a sword (Yaniel of Drezen)
  • South Row: Male Angel holding a sword (Silver Twin Lariel), Male angel in armor holding a sword and shield (Hand of the Inheritor), Female angel holding a hammer (Silver Twin Targona)

To open the passage, players will need to select the statues in the following order: Galfrey, Hand of the Inheritor, Lariel, Targona, Zacharius, and Yaniel. A door will open, revealing a cache of weapons and treasure chests. Most of them are mundane items, but among the better rewards is a nice set of barding for animal companions and a Monk amulet that is perfect for Lann.
