Written by Steven Knight, Peaky Blinders, is a gritty British crime drama that involves criminal gangs, bloodbaths, visually stunning sets, thought-provoking quotes, and the best of all, an absolutely incredible cast. To add to that, the storylines are something the viewers can’t get enough of.

The BBC original released its 3rd season in 2016, which followed the events of a frantic season 2 finale that saw Thomas Shelby’s life being miraculously saved by someone working for Winston Churchill. The Peaky Blinders also dealt with Major Campbell and Sabini, in a season that saw the Shelby family become a feared organization in the whole of England.

But, as it is with Tommy, happiness never lasts long enough and season 3 brings with itself some sorrows. Without further ado, let’s rank every episode from the third outing of Peaky Blinders.

6 Season 3, Episode 1 (8.3)

In the first episode of season 3, it’s 1924, and Tommy is all set to marry Grace but, for some reason, he looks nervous (which he hasn’t ever before). Tommy holds a family meeting in the kitchen, telling every man to be at their best behavior, screaming at them like never before.

Meanwhile, Polly meets a Russian man, namely, Anton Kaledin, and they try to discuss business which Polly doesn’t like. Arthur gives the best man’s speech but it is cut short by Tommy before he finally meets Anton. They talk about a job Winston Churchill wants Thomas to do but it’s not going to be that easy to convince the Peaky Blinders’ leader. Every member of the Shelby family has a weird night; the kind you wouldn’t expect on a wedding day.

5 Season 3, Episode 5 (8.5)

In the penultimate episode of season 3, the brutal beating from Father Hughes meant that Tommy had to stay in a hospital for three months. He gets visited by Michael, who asks Tommy to let him be the man to kill Hughes as he was abused by him. Meanwhile, Tommy continues to work on another one of his master plans, which includes Alfie Solomons, which is something Arthur doesn’t like.

The conversation between Alfie and Arthur is hilarious, to say the least. Polly and Michael visit Ada as they want to put everything in motion so that they can welcome Ada back to Shelby Company Limited. The episode ends in a tense confrontation between Tommy and Polly regarding something Michael wants to do.

4 Season 3, Episode 3 (8.8)

In the third episode of season 3, Tommy is dealing with the after-effects of Grace’s death as the grief just doesn’t seem to go away. He is staying away from his family and only returning to his house to see Charles. Still, Tommy calls a family meeting, first inviting Polly and Michael to his office. Then, Arthur and John make their way to the office and they are told to kill Mrs. Changretta and retrieve Vicente Changretta alive. Moreover, the family members don’t like this kind of behavior from Tommy and they continue to fight among themselves, while Tommy goes on a trip. Arthur and John disobey some orders, while Ada is offered a job by Tommy.

3 Season 3, Episode 4 (8.9)

In the fourth episode of season 3, The Shelby boys honor their father’s memory by hunting a stag before discussing their planned robbery. This will be the last dirty job Tommy will do as Grace wanted this business to turn legit.

Polly goes to confess about the murder of Campbell before arriving at the betting office and finding Lizzie and Esme moaning about stuff. Prince Tatiana walks into Tommy’s office as they talk about Father Hughes but all of that soon turns into romance. After that, Tommy follows Hughes, planning to kill him, but everything goes south, thanks to Polly’s confession. An injured Tommy makes his way to Ada’s house, leaving her frightened.

2 Season 3, Episode 2 (9.0)

In the second episode of season 2, Tommy makes a deal with Father John Hughes, as they have a tense conversation that reveals exactly what Tommy has to do next for Winston Churchill. Moreover, the Peaky Blinders threaten Vicente Changretta and the Italians don’t find it funny. Ada and Tommy meet at a library as they discuss the Russian Revolution, while Polly confronts John about the Changretta situation, to which John says that Lizzie will have it under control. But when the situation doesn’t ease up, John takes a couple of men with him and beats the hell out of Angel Changretta. Things get out of hand when Tommy is taken to prison and his son, Charles, is threatened by Father Hughes. The episode ends with the death of one of the show’s best characters.

1 Season 3, Episode 6 (9.6)

In the finale of season 3, the Shelby family opens an Orphanage Home in the name of Grace, and Father Hughes turns up at the event, even though he wasn’t invited. Hughes kidnaps Charlie and tells Tommy to not deviate from the plan, giving him only 24 hours. He wants all the jewels, as well. Tommy is absolutely livid about the fact that Hughes got the news about the jewels and rips into everyone before telling Polly who he thinks might be responsible. In an intense scene, Father Hughes is killed by Michael, which is exactly the thing Polly wanted to avoid. The episode ends in an incredible scene as Polly, Michael, John, and Arthur are arrested for their involvement in the “train incident.”
