Maruki is one of Persona 5 Royal’s newest characters. This guide will help players rank up his confidant and earn perks along the way. Persona 5 Royal is the definitive Persona 5 experience, as this version comes along with extra content not found in the original. Amongst this content is new characters to interact with, a new ending, a new Palace for players to explore, and an entirely new third semester for players to explore Shujin Academy with. The game heavily relies on players building bonds with characters to make their abilities more powerful inside and outside of the Metaverse. This guide will help players build a relationship with Maruki and craft their confidant.

Maruki is introduced to the story after the first Palace, as Shujin Academy seeks outside help for students who are struggling with the events surrounding Kamoshida. Kamoshida was abusive to students around the campus right under the faculty’s noses. He does not come clean until after the Phantom Thieves steal the treasure inside of his Palace. Maruki is introduced as a new character for players to vent to about the situation surrounding Kamoshida and whatever other teenage problems they are going through. Here’s what players get for leveling up the Maruki Confidant.

Takuto Maruki Confidant in Persona 5 Royal

Players will want to find a Councillor Persona to make it easier to rank up this Confidant. Here is what comes along with leveling up this Confidant.

  • Rank 1: This is the starter confidant level.
  • Rank 2: The player will be given the ability Detox X, an ability if when Joker is inflicted with an ailment, he may recover immediately.
  • Rank 3: The player will be given the ability Flow, an ability that has a chance to receive the effects of Charge and Concentrate at the start of a battle.
  • Rank 4: No new ability comes with this level.
  • Rank 5: The player will be given the ability Mindfulness, an ability that has a chance to restore Joker’s SP when it is low.
  • Rank 6: No new ability comes with this level.
  • Rank 7: The player will be given the ability Flow Boos, an ability that raises the chance of Flow succeeding.
  • Rank 8: No new ability comes with this level.
  • Rank 9: The player will be given the ability Detox DX, an ability that raises the chance of Detox X succeeding.

This confidant is required to get Persona 5 Royal’s new ending and palace. Do not wait too long to focus on this one or else it will be too late. The third semester happens towards the end of the game and players will need Maruki to unlock it. Players also need to build the confidant relationship with Akechi and Kasumi to unlock the new content. Otherwise, the game will continue with the original ending to Persona 5. This updated version adds several small and welcomed features like faster load times and more to do to build confidants during the day. This is definitely the best version of Persona 5 to exist yet.
