Phasmophobia: The Twins Ghost Guide (Tips, Strategies, & Weaknesses)

The Twins are a ghost type in Phasmophobia that can be investigated, but they are rather difficult to identify due to their behavior and mechanics. The Twins will alternate their attacks and coordinate by mimicking each other to confuse the player. When either Twin is provoked, a hunt can be initiated by either of these identical ghosts.

The Twins were added with the Nightmare update of Phasmophobia, and they are the first pair of ghosts that work by alternating attacks. This means they can come after the player separately and hunt from different locations. However, they also have weaknesses that can be exploited, and there are strategies that work well for identifying and dealing with them.

The easiest way to determine if the Twins are around in Phasmophobia is to observe instances where multiple objects are being interacted with or more than one supernatural occurrence is happening simultaneously. One of the Twins’ weaknesses is that they will interact with the environment often and at the same time. Another way to confirm the Twins’ presence is to look at the Total Activity monitor and notice the curved line that shows the Twins are active at the same time. By identifying two supernatural events coinciding with each other, players can determine their investigation team is dealing with Twin ghosts.

Strategies for Investigating Twin Ghosts in Phasmophobia

When investigating Phasmophobia‘s new ghosts, the Twins, there will be one ghost that gives evidence and one that acts as a decoy. The actual ghost will give off freezing temperatures and Spirit Box responses, so players will be able to find evidence when investigating it. The decoy ghost will give off EMF level 5 like the real ghost, but none of the other effects will occur. The decoy ghost also can’t step in salt or activate motion sensors, but sound sensors will still pick them up.

The Twins can hunt from two different locations on the map, so players should make sure they’re investigating the right ghost in order to progress and gather evidence. On larger maps, it can be difficult to identify the Twins because the decoy can be far away from the actual ghost. If players are not getting any evidence other than EMF level 5, then it’s likely they’re dealing with Phasmophobia‘s Twin ghosts and that they’re following the wrong one.

There are other ghosts that can behave similarly to Twins, like the Oni who has increased activity or the Shade who can be difficult to obtain evidence from. Correctly identifying them can be tough, but the best strategies are to observe the Total Activity monitor and confirm that there are multiple supernatural occurrences happening at once. The Twins are a challenging and exciting ghost to investigate in Phasmophobia.
