Pokémon: 10 Fake Eeveelutions That Look Real
The Pokémon community has some really gifted artists who enjoy designing new Pokémon. Affectionately known as Fakemon, these creations perfectly reflect the talent of their creators. In fact, some of them could pass for real Pokémon.
Out of all the Pokémon who constantly receive the Fakemon treatment, Eevee reigns supreme. The versatile and beloved Normal-type has eight evolutions (or Eeveelutions, as the community calls them), but that’s not enough for the franchise’s most devoted fans. Considering that there are still 10 types that lack Eeveelutions, fans and artists let their imaginations fly and come up with designs so incredible they look like the real deal.
10 Gritteon
The Ground-type is a favorite of Pokémon artists because of how easy it could fit an Eeveelution. Eevee itself could pass for a Ground-type, and no one would even bat an eye. Ground has many classic and distinctive elements in nearly all its Pokémon, and Deviant AshnixsLaw applies them to his Eeveelution brilliantly and cohesively.
Gritteon’s brown-and-beige color scheme instantly evokes both the Ground-type and Eevee. Its ears and tail remind of clouds of dust but could also pass for fluff, adding to the Pokémon’s endearing quality. Finally, the different-colored paws look like mud stains, enhancing Gritteon’s earthy vibe.
9 Scorpeon
Poison is a somewhat infamous type in the franchise. It usually relates to the villainous teams in Pokémon games, gaining a reputation as an “evil” type. The truth is, Poison Pokémon are just like any other, even if their type does have a negative connotation.
It’s hard to imagine innocent Eevee evolving into a vicious and polluting Poison-type, but Redditor PTickles offers an excellent interpretation with Scorpeon. For starters, the name is perfect, simple yet fitting. Furthermore, combining a scorpion’s distinctive tail with an Eeveelution’s classic form is a stroke of genius. The result is a Fakemon that would probably scare its fellow Eeveelutions.
8 Steeleon
A Steel-type Eevee is something fans are dying to see. The idea of such a sweet and innocent-looking Pokémon evolving into a fierce and metallic beast is too alluring to pass. Moreover, Steel is not only the most powerful type in Pokémon, but it’s also surprisingly flexible, meaning it can adapt to many existing Pokémon with ease.
Thus, Steeleon is a no-brainer. Deviant Kiiro-nee-san created a logical and regal Steel-type Eevee, so effective that it looks like it came straight from The Pokémon Company. With an armor-like body that allows the designer to preserve the Eeveelution’s forms and proportions, Steeleon looks like Glaceon’s long-lost sibling.
7 Spectreon
Ghost-types are among the creepiest Pokémon in the franchise. It makes sense because many of them are dead and came back to life somehow, or are spirits who enjoy lingering in the mortal world. Whatever their lore, Ghosts in Pokémon have a distinct unnerving quality that characterizes them.
Deviant Galefaux understands that and applies all those rules to her take on a Ghost-type Eevee. Her Spectreon is as impressive as it is unsettling. The spine-like bones on its back skull-like face already make it creepy, but the fact that its legs and tail don’t connect to its main body is the cherry on top of a deliciously eerie sundae.
6 Karateon
Eevee has Evolved!
Meet Karateon, the newest Eeveelution who dons the fighting type! It is possible to evolve Eevee into Karateon in Norcloh, but only skilled trainers seem to be able to pull it off!

With 215K followers, Hoops and Hip Hop is one of the most popular PokéTubers out there. And like many other fans of the franchise, he wonders how a Fighting-type Eeveelution would work.
Taking inspiration from the popular sport of karate, Hoops introduces Karateon into the world of Fakemon. Many fans do not love Pokémon that seem to wear clothes, but Karateon makes it work. Particularly impressive are the karate belt-like tail and the gi-like fur that covers its body. Karateon shines, perfectly representing its type while still feeling like a plausible progression for Eevee.
5 Hawkeon
HAWKEON – My take on a flying-type eeveelution! 😀 I thought before any more news drop about Gen 8, better finish my old design in case we actually might get a flying type…? pLEASE…? GAMEFREAK…? ANYTHING…? I’D TAKE A BUG- OR DRAGON-EVOLUTION TOO #pokemon pic.twitter.com/AAc9CsW6A5
— Eleanor Bick 🦎💖 (@ELBdot) May 9, 2019
Many fans believe they won’t ever get to see a Flying-type Eevee. Others are more hopeful, thinking it possible in a later generation. For now, the many fake Flying-type Eeveelutions will have to do, and artists like Eleanor Bick make the wait more bearable.
Her take on a Flying-type evolution for Eevee is refreshingly different. Other artists go for a blue-and-white color scheme, but Eleanor chooses to keep Eevee’s sandy shades. Instead, she focuses on the Fakemon’s ears and tail, elongating them and adding feathers. The ears become wings, and Hawkeon becomes the perfect Flying-type for any Pokémon journey.
4 Longeon
The Dragon type is tricky to translate into an Eeveelution. Almost all Dragon-types are Pseudo-Legendary Pokémon, increasing the type’s standing in the franchise. Furthermore, Dragon-types in Pokémon are mighty and ferocious, standing out because of their size and strength.
At first, it might seem too complicated to turn a cute fox-like creature into a dragon. Luckily, Deviant stARTboi-8 found the perfect way to do it. His creation, Longeon, has enough draconic elements to feel at home in the Dragon-type but maintains the classic features that characterize all other Eeveelutions. The eyes and especially the long and twisted tail make Longeon seem like a real dragon, while the shape of its body and legs gives it a sense of harmony with Eevee’s current evolutions.
3 Mounteon
When coming up with a Rock-type Eevee, most artists would lean heavily into the type’s most obvious traits. Perhaps they would make it brown, rugged, and covered in boulders. A select few, however, decide to think outside the box and evade the expected.
Redditor huwahta? follows this route with their take on a Rock-type Eeveelution, the appropriately named Mounteon. The user makes full use of the tail to put the Rock-type in full display, thus limiting the presence of gravel in the Fakemon’s body. A large stone surrounds Mounteon’s neck, but otherwise, its body is stone-free. Its face is very Eevee-like, making this Fakemon the ideal marriage between concept and execution.
2 Nectareon
When it comes to Eeveelutions, Bug is, perhaps, the most challenging type to design. It has so many trademark elements that wouldn’t fit with Eevee, to begin with, and the consensus is that the franchise will probably never release an official Bug-type Eeveelution. It just wouldn’t make sense.
However, Deviant DiegoGuilherme makes a strong case for the possibility with his utterly brilliant take on a Bug-type Eeveelution. Nectareon takes the necessary elements of a classic Eeveelution and adds just enough Bug-like features. The result is a connected and impressive design that fans wish was real. The large butterfly-like ears are a particularly inspired addition that instantly stands out thanks to the design’s overall austerity.
1 Lepideon
There are many incredibly talented artists in the Pokémon community, and their creations speak for themselves. Deviant TamarinFrog is one of those, and her take on a Bug-type Eeveelution is so beautiful and creative, it stands as one of the best creations in all the Pokémon medium.
Lepideon is jaw-droppingly exquisite. The magnificent ears, resembling butterfly wings, shine in a purple color scheme that appeals without overwhelming. The fur around its neck brings several bugs to mind, particularly the woolly aphid. However, the face is distinctively Eevee, even if the body and legs aren’t. Lepideon is so superb that it could easily pass for a Legendary Pokémon. It’s a testament to the rewards that result from the marriage between a singularly creative mind and a franchise with endless potential.
