Pokémon BDSP: How To Find (& Catch) Entei, Raikou, and Suicune

Entei, Raikou, and Suicune all make a return in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl for players to find and capture. Capturing legendary Pokémon has been a part of the series since Pokémon Red and Blue. There is a thrill that comes from searching around a region and encountering a legendary Pokémon in the overworld. Some of them can be found at complete random while others are an integral part of the story. In the case of Pokémon BDSP, players will need to wait until the endgame to capture some of the more classic legendary Pokémon like Mewtwo, Lugia, and the legendary dog trio from Johto, Entei, Raikou, and Suicune.

In order to find Entei, Raikou, and Suicune in Pokémon BDSP, players will first need to get the National Dex. This item becomes available after players have seen all the Pokémon within the Sinnoh Dex. With the National Dex, more areas will unlock, and more Pokémon will begin to appear in the world. One of these new areas is Ramanas Park. This area replaces the original Pal Park and can be found on Route 221. Once players receive the National Dex, new caves will appear, allowing players to meet legendary Pokémon. This includes Entei, Raikou, and Suicune.

Before players can find Entei, Raikou, and Suicune in Pokémon BDSP, they will also need to unlock access to the Johto Slate. In Ramanas Park, players are able to purchase slates from the shop owner in exchange for Mysterious Shards. This currency is mined while exploring the Pokémon BDSP Grand Underground. After collecting three Mysterious Shards, players will be able to purchase the Discovery Slate. This is the first step to capturing the legendary dog trio in Pokémon BDSP.

Get the Johto Slate in Pokémon BDSP

To find the Johto Slate in Pokémon BDSP, players will need to have caught Regirock, Regice, and Registeel from the Discovery Room. The Discovery Slate item can be placed on a pedestal in Ramanas Park. This will teleport the player into the Discovery Room where they can challenge and capture all three Regi Pokémon.

Defeating and capturing the Regi Pokémon will unlock access to the Johto Slate. Similar to the Discovery Room, once placed on the pedestal, the Johto Slate item will teleport players into the Johto Room. Here, players can battle or capture Suicune, Raikou, and Entei for their Pokémon BDSP collection.

It’s important to note that the Johto Room is exclusive to Pokémon Brilliant Diamond. Players who purchased Pokémon Shining Pearl will have access to the Kanto Room instead, which features Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres. In order to obtain them all, players can either trade with a friend who has the alternate version, or wait until Pokémon Home offers Pokémon BDSP support and bring the legendries over from the cloud.
