Pokémon BDSP: How To Find (& Catch) Lickitung

Lickitung is a Normal-type Pokémon that players can find and catch in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. In order to find a Lickitung, players will need to access specific areas in the game, including the Grand Underground. Lickitung has a rare spawn rate, so it may take some time for players to find one and attempt to capture it.

Lickitung is a Normal-type Pokémon that can evolve into Lickilicky if certain requirements are met. For Lickitung to evolve, it needs to know the move Rollout, which it learns at level six. However, players can teach Lickitung Rollout after level six by taking it to Pastoria City and having the Move Tutor teach it to the Lickitung. After that Lickitung will evolve the next time it levels, but first, players will need to find and catch this rare Pokémon.

In order to catch a Lickitung, players will need to access either Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl‘s Grand Underground, or Lake Valor, an area that is available after players get past the fifth gym. For those that want to catch Lickitung early in the game, they can head to the Grand Underground and search almost any of the biomes for this Pokémon. Lickitung will have a higher spawn rate if players have Normal Pokémon Statues in their secret base.

Catching Lickitung in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

The Grand Underground is made up of several sections, and each has Pokémon Hideaways to explore and hunt for specific Pokémon in. Lickitung appears in most of the Grand Underground Pokémon Hideaways, but it has the best chance of spawning in a Still-Water Cave or Riverbank Cave. Finding a Lickitung may take several tries because it has a rare spawn rate, so players will likely need to leave and return to the Pokémon Hideaway multiple times. Alternatively, players can look for Lickitung in the Lake Valor area if they have access to it.

Lickitung can be caught with either a Quick Ball or a Dusk Ball if players go after it in the Grand Underground. Quick Balls have a high catch rate when used at the beginning of a battle, and Dusk Balls have an increased chance of catching Pokémon when used in a cave or at night. Lickitung can be caught using either, or by using regular PokéBalls. Its health will need to be drained first when using anything other than a Quick Ball.

In Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, players can find and capture a Lickitung in the Grand Underground or Lake Valor. Catching it is easier if players use a Quick Ball at the start of the battle, or a Dusk Ball when attempting to catch one in the Grand Underground. Lickitung evolves into Licklicky, but only if it knows the move Rollout. Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl players can add Lickitung to their team early in the game.
