Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl contains side quests that can be completed alongside the story, like finding the Valor Lakefront Suite Key. Valor Lakefront is the property of luxury hotels near the beach that leads to Pastoria City, just south of Lake Valor. While the entire property seems like a cosmetic addition to the game, it’s actually the location of a few different valuable items in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

In addition to the Valor Lakefront Suite Key, players can also find the Coin Toss app for the Pokétch in Pokémon BDSP and TM 92 Trick Room. The only Pokémon that learns Trick Room by leveling up is Porygon-Z, but many more Pokémon can learn the move through the TM. Trick Room creates a bizarre area where slower Pokémon move first for five turns. So naturally, the Pokémon that can make the most of this move are the slower ones, like Dusclops and Dusknoir. The Valor Lakefront property is also where players can find the game developer cameos, something that is featured in every Pokémon game.

Lake Valor is where players will face Team Galatic as part of the main story. It’s also the location of Azelf in Pokémon BDSP, a Legendary Pokémon that plays a meaningful role in Sinnoh’s history and the present story. The Valor Lakefront Suite Key belongs to an NPC standing outside her suite on the Lake Valor side entrance. After speaking with the NPC, she’ll reveal that she lost her suite key but claims it was with her when she left the check-in counter. The check-in area of the Valor Lakefront property is on the south side of the resort that leads toward Route 213.

Finding The Valor Lakefront Suite Key In Pokémon BDSP

To find the Valor Lakefront Suite Key, head south towards the check-in area but do not enter it. Instead, walk to the left side of the wall closer to the building and tap the “A” button until the key is found. Returning the key to the NPC will see her reward a player with a Lava Cookie, a specialty item originally from the Hoenn region in Pokémon. Follow the woman inside her suite and speak with her once more to receive the Lava Cookie.

The Lava Cookie restores a Pokémon’s status condition from confusion, paralysis, burn, poison, freeze, and sleep. It is essentially the equivalent of a Full Heal, but it’s a nice call back to Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald.
