Pokémon Brilliant Diamond: How to Find (& Catch) Dialga

Dialga is the legendary Pokémon that players will encounter during the main story in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond. Catching Brilliant Diamond‘s Dialga is optional, so players may miss the opportunity if they aren’t prepared for the fight. If Dialga is knocked out or players run out of PokéBalls or Pokémon, then the chance to capture Dialga will be permanently lost.

Before players can attempt to catch Dialga in Brilliant Diamond, they will need to face off against Team Galactic’s toughest members. Mars and Jupiter will challenge the player and their best friend to a duel. Once they’re taken care of, then the final battle with Cyrus will begin. Players should use their best team to defeat Cyrus, then they will be able to approach Dialga for the opportunity to fight and catch it.

Dialga is a Steel-Dragon type Pokémon, and it is weak against Fighting and Ground moves. At the start of the battle, players may want to cause Dialga to sleep in order to make capturing it easier. Using a strong Pokémon, get Dialga’s health as low as possible without knocking it out, then use Ultra Balls until it’s caught. Dialga can be a tough opponent, so using a Pokémon that can exploit its vulnerabilities will help players drain its health quickly and catch it.

Catching Dialga in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond may take a few attempts, but players can keep trying as long as they saved the game before starting the battle. The best way to catch Dialga without the Master Ball is to purchase the maximum number of Ultra Balls, then lower its health to near knockout.
