A Pokémon fan has crafted an impressive and realistic Snom using real ice. Snom is one of the more popular Pokémon from Pokémon Sword and Shield, introduced to the franchise in Generation Eight. The larval pocket monster is an icicle-like character, and pretends to be one as a form of self-defense when asleep, disguising itself from potential threats in the night.

When Snom was revealed, it quickly gained traction for just how cute and small it is, and that alone has made it one of the most beloved Galarian Pokémon. It received a plethora of fanart and videos in tribute to it, cementing its place in many players’ hearts. Its evolution, Frosmoth, is also a unique Pokémon, with both variants being of the rare Ice/Bug type combination. Frosmoth is a unique take on a moth-like Pokémon design-wise, and while it may not be the first moth Pokémon, it still makes a name for itself through its typing.

Reddit user Cubcub29’s take on a real-life Snom made from ice is shown to have fine attention to detail in the craftsmanship. Though the creator hasn’t shared details on what the crafting process was like, it can be seen that its shell is made with carefully placed ice crystals on the back, while Snom’s face features its recognizable black eye. The finished piece proves to be just as adorable a Snom as seen in the games, if not moreso, successfully serving as a real-life adaptation of the Pokémon.

Despite the Ice-type being one of the notoriously weaker types in the Pokémon typechart, there are a variety of Ice-type Pokémon that are both strong and have creative designs. Pokémon like Snom may be on the adorable side, but dual-type Ice Pokémon like Articuno or Kyurem exude power and mysticism. Others like Walrein and Seel are based on real-life animals, with Spheal being especially loved. No matter the quality, there’s bound to be an Ice-type Pokémon that will appeal to specific tastes.

Despite Snom being part Ice-type, Cubcub29’s ice model has already melted many fans’ hearts. If Snom were real, it would be the type of Pokémon that would make for an adorable pet, though it might not do well during the hotter months. The model does bring such thoughts to life though, as it’s easy to imagine it slowly crawling on the ice. The real Snom’s proves to be yet another adorable tribute to a beloved Pokémon from the Galar region, and one that also fits the winter season perfectly.
