There are tons of events happening in Pokemon Go for May 2021. This guide will show players every upcoming event happening in the game. This has been a massive year to be a fan of the Pokemon brand. Outside of it being the 25th anniversary of the series, this year also celebrates the 5th anniversary of Pokemon Go. It’s hard to go a single week without a new special event happening in the game. May might be one of the most stacked months of the year yet as there is a heavy emphasis on the Kalos region. This guide will show players every upcoming event happening in May 2021.

Currently, the game is celebrating its Season of Legends event. With this event, players were able to capture the regular and Therian forms of the legendary genie Pokemon from the Unova region. As this event soon comes to a close, players will want to make sure they have every genie Pokemon before they are replaced in the 5-star raids. The next month is focusing on Pokemon from the Kalos region as tons of Pokemon from X and Y will be making their introduction. This guide will show players everything they can prepare for the month of May 2021.

Every May 2021 Event Happening in Pokemon Go

Here is every event happening in May 2021.

• Luminous Legends X: This event will run from Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, May 17, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Xerneas will appear in 5-star raid battles and a handful of Fairy Pokemon will begin to appear in the game.
• Luminous Legends Y: This event will run after Luminous Legends X and focus on Yveltal appearing in 5-star raid battles. This will take place from Tuesday, May 18, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time
• May Research Breakthrough: This will focus on Galarian Ponyta throughout the entire month.
• Cottonee Spotlight Hour: This will take place from May 4th from 6-7 pm local time.
• Dratini Spotlight Hour: This will take place from May 11th from 6-7 pm local time.
• Alolan Ratata Spotlight Hour: This will take place from May 18th from 6-7 pm local time.
• Marill Spotlight Hour: This will take place from May 25th from 6- pm local time.
• May Community Day: This will take place on May 15th from 11 am local time to 5 pm local time. The Pokemon has yet to be revealed.
• Pokemon Snap Celebration: This will begin on April 29th and go till May 2nd to celebrate the release of New Pokemon Snap.
• Shadow Moltres: Giovanni will have his own Shadow Moltres for players to capture. Use a Super Rocket Radar to locate him. There will be one available as part of the Luminous Legends X event.
• New Mega: A new Mega Evolution will appear starting from May 15th to June 1st.

May is heavily focused on the Kalos region. It will be interesting what other changes will come to the game next month. They always throw in a surprise or two in the middle of the month. Make sure to pay attention to that news tab to stay on top of things.
