Bulbasaur is the Community Day creature in Pokémon Go for January 2022. For several years, the Community Day events have been a staple for Pokémon Go. Once per month, a single Pokémon will have its spawn rate drastically increased. Not only that, but this Pokémon also has the chance to appear in its Shiny form. Usually, finding Shiny Pokémon is incredibly rare and luck-based. While this is still true during every Community Day in Pokémon Go, the Shiny Odds are increased from 1/500 to 1/25. Although, this January is handling its Community Day events a bit differently.

January 2022 will host both a Bulbasaur and Spheal Community Day within the same month. The Bulbasaur Community Day will take place on Saturday, January 22, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. This will give trainers their hours to capture as many Shiny Bulbasaur as they possibly can. Not only that, but if players evolve their Ivysaur into a Venusaur within two hours after the event is over, that Venusaur will learn the Charged Attack Frenzy Plant. This is one of the best Grass-type attacks in the game.

With Bulbasaur Community Day taking place on January 22nd, trainers still have some time to prepare. There are also extra bonuses that will be active during the event. This includes an extension on Lure Modules and Incenses, as well as a bonus in catch XP. Beforehand, trainers should clear out their Pokémon Storage. There is nothing worse than having to clear out storage during a timed event. These are a few vital tips to help players during Bulbasaur Community Day.

Preparing For Bulbasaur Community Day (January 2022)

  • Lucky Eggs: This item will double how much XP trainers earn for 30 minutes. The Bulbasaur Community Day is offering an x3 Catch XP bonus. This is a great way to level up fast in Pokémon Go. Using a Lucky Egg during this event will bring that bonus up to x6.
  • Bulbasaur Community Day Classic: This is a premium Timed Research that players can purchase from the shop for about $1. It will give players a list of tasks to complete during the day. Completing these tasks will provide players with extra rewards and more chances to find Shiny Bulbasaur. Consider grabbing the ticket while it’s active.
  • Free Ultra Balls: There will be a free 30 Ultra Ball Box in the item shop when Community Day starts. Claim it. It’s free!
  • Aim For Six Shiny Bulbasaur: While it’s normal to try and capture only three Shiny versions of a Pokémon, try to capture six. While players only need three for a Shiny Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, and Venusaur, it’s common for Pokémon Go players to miss out on Community Day events. So capture more of them to trade down the line. A Shiny Pokémon is a pretty useful bargaining chip.

Lure Modules and Incenses will also be active for three hours during the event. This will increase the spawn rate of all nearby Pokémon. Players also have a chance to find and catch a Smeargle in Pokémon Go by capturing pictures. If it photobombs the photo, it will also appear on the world map. With Bulbasaur Community Day not being the only one for January, trainers have their work cut out for them. Capture both Shiny Spheal and Shiny Bulbasaur. They’ll be much more valuable later.
