A new Community Day event in Pokémon GO will debut and feature the Alolan Pokémon Stufful and its evolution Bewear, offering players a new and powerful companion for gameplay. Pokémon GO Community Day events are a great time for players to get together at local parks or in fun urban areas to catch a specific species of Pokémon. While the enjoyment level of a Community Day can fluctuate for each player depending on the specific features, it is a great way to fill out a Pokédex entry and earn much-needed Stardust and experience points.

While many may be excited for the chance to catch Stufful, Pokémon GO’s 3-hour Community Day time limit is causing backlash. In previous Pokémon GO Community Day events starting in 2020, players have had most of the day to enjoy the event’s boosts to gameplay and complete the event-specific Timed and Special Research tasks. However, it has been announced the Stufful Community Day will only be three hours long, potentially limiting the number of people able to participate, and penalizing those who aren’t able to give up the middle of their day to play.

However, those able to jump in will have many boosts and rewards for participating in the April Pokémon GO Stufful Community Day. According to a blog post provided on PokémonGoLive, The Stufful Community Day will be Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 2 PM to 5 PM local time. Stufful will debut with a Shiny variation, and Stufful that evolve into Bewear during the event, and for two hours after, will learn the Fighting-type Charged move “Drain Punch.” The move hits for 20 during Trainer Battles and increases the user’s Defense, and will hit for 50 in Gym and Raid Battles.

Pokémon GO’s Stufful Community Day Offers Special Research “Strong Stuff”

Like in past Community Day events, players will have the ability to purchase a Special Research Story from the Pokémon GO in-game store for 1 USD. The Special Research Story for this event is “Strong Stuff,” and will be available for purchase before the event. However, those who do not purchase the story ticket will only be able to access the event-themed Field Research objectives from spinning PokéStops. Unlike the six-hour Community Day events, players who purchase the “Strong Stuff” will need to make sure they prioritize the tasks in the Special Research. While they are available to complete after the event, it can be much more challenging to finish the themed tasks.

In an attempt to balance the changes being made to the time frame of the event, Pokémon GO’s Stufful Community Day will also feature a number of bonuses for those playing during the allotted time and shortly after. Players will receive x3 Catch XP, a 2x change to earn Stufful Candy XL, 3-hour durations for Incense and Lure Modules, 1 extra Special Trade, 2x Catch Candy, and a 50% decrease in Stardust while trading with friends. Additionally, Pokémon GO players will be able to join in on Group Play Bonuses by grouping together to catch Pokémon from Lure Modules, encouraging players to work together as they set out to catch a bundle of cute Stufful and take advantage of Community Day perks.
