After all parties having announced a limited-time crossover between Gucci and The North Face with Pokémon GO, a promo code that will allow players to collect the event cosmetic items without leaving the safety of their homes has been released. This measure has been put in place by Pokémon GO and the two fashion brands in light of the current global pandemic to help ensure player safety.

Gucci and The North Face teased the collaboration with Pokémon GO in December and revealed the greater details at the beginning of this year. Players can visit 100 select cities across the U.S. and spin specific Pokéstops to redeem three different cosmetic items for their in-game avatars. Of course, his would require players to leave their homes to travel to those eligible Pokéstops in order to claim a digital hat, backpack, or t-shirt. Only a few days into the promotion, the collaborators have made the decision to make the event content available to everyone.

While it hasn’t been announced publicly by Gucci, Northface, or Pokémon GO, Serebii.net has reported that a special promo code will allow players to collect two of each of the digital rewards for free without leaving their homes. The universal code that players can use is GXSD5CJ556NHG. It can be used via the code input function on Android versions of the game, or players can visit this Niantic Labs page and sign in to their Pokémon GO account. Being a universal code, players can use the same promo code to redeem the items on multiple accounts.

The Gucci x The North Face collab with Pokémon GO is similar to the Paris Fashion Week crossover, except players won’t be able to find any fashionable Pokémon in the wild. The Paris Fashion Week event, meanwhile, brought multiple fancily dressed Pokémon into Pokémon GO, which could also appear Shiny and elegantly clothed if players were lucky. The event also included special trainer cosmetics, but they were given to players for free from the beginning of the event without any need for a promo code. Many players did, however, have to leave their homes to find the costumed Pokémon.

These fashion crossover’s with Pokémon GO are a little unconventional, but having made $1 billion in 2020, it makes sense that brands would want to collab with Pokémon GO. Brands like Gucci and Pokémon are an unlikely pair, but now players can have “the drip” in and outside the game. However, gamers will need a lot more than a promo code to afford the real-life Gucci x The North Face merchandise these promo items are based on.
