Shiny Galarian Ponyta will soon be making its Pokemon Go debut. This guide will show players how they can find and capture their own. Pokemon Go continues to introduce new Shiny forms as part of special events. In a normal, mainline Pokemon game, all the Shiny and original forms are unlocked from the very beginning. To keep things fresh, Pokemon Go has decided to lock down certain Shiny Pokemon until they have a moment to be released and be the focus. These unlocks are usually parts of events and special global challenges. This time around is no different as players are given the opportunity to unlock Shiny Galarian Ponyta using their own abilities. This guide will show players how they can find and capture this Pokemon.

Regular Galarian Ponyta is already pretty difficult to come across. Players do have the chance of it appearing by hatching from 7km eggs but this is still incredibly rare. Soon, Pokemon Go will be hosting its first major Fairy event with the Luminous Legends X event. This event will introduce Xerneas to the game to be a part of 5-star raid battles and a few new Fairy-type Pokemon will be introduced. This event begins on May 4th and Dragon and Fairy-type Pokemon will have their spawn rates increased. Here is how players can unlock the ability to capture their own Shiny Galarian Ponyta.

How To Find (& Catch) Shiny Galarian Ponyta

Shiny Galarian Ponyta is going to be locked behind a new Global Challenge. From May 1st to May 9th, Pokemon Go players will be tasked with capturing 500 million Fairy-type Pokemon before the deadline is reached. If players are able to do that, Shiny Galarian Ponyta will be added to the game. Even when the event is over, Shiny Galarian Ponyta will remain available. The best thing to do would be to capitalize on the Luminous Legends X event and its additional Fairy-type Pokemon. There’s no doubt that the Pokemon Go community will be able to complete this goal easily.

Once it is added to the game, it may appear more frequently in the wild as part of this event. Galarian Rapidash is a Fairy-type Pokemon so its spawn rate will be increased throughout the first half of May. From there, players will just need to continue encountering them. Players will be able to get their special bonuses (including the Shiny unlock) beginning on May 11th.
