It’s time for 2021’s Halloween event in Pokémon GO, and players can now encounter a Shiny Spinarak in the game. The full Pokémon GO Halloween event is scheduled to run from 15 October 2021 to 31 October 2021. It will be held in two parts, and Spinarak will only have increased chances of appearance during the first week of the event, entitled “Creepy Companions.”

Before this 2021 Halloween event, the Pokémon Spinarak could only be found at night. However, the event has increased Spinarak’s chance of appearance, keeping in line with the spooky season. Though Spinarak has had a place in Pokémon GO for some time, Halloween 2021 is the first time its Shiny form will be available for players to capture.

The “Creepy Companions” part of the 2021 Pokémon GO Halloween event focuses on Psychic- and Poison-type Pokémon. Some of the other Pokémon appearing during the first week of the event, with their Shiny forms, are Halloween Mischief Pikachu, Zubat, Drowzee, Gastly, Misdreavous, Shuppet, Halloween Mischief Piplup, Stunky, Woobat, and Gothita.

Since the increased odds of finding a wild Spinarak will only last until 22 October 2021, Pokémon GO players are advised to get out and start hunting immediately. The good news is that Spinarak will continue to have increased hatching odds from 7 km eggs for the entire event’s duration, so biking, walking, and running are highly encouraged while players are looking to encounter the Pokémon in the wild. The quickest ways to find and catch a Shiny Spinarak are as follows:

• Escape Battle: If a player encounters a Spinarak that is not Shiny, running from the battle is probably the best bet. Because Spinarak will be everywhere for a time, it shouldn’t be hard to find another to take a chance on.
• Collect Eggs: Even though Spinarak’s wild encounters will decrease after the first week of the Halloween event, its chances of hatching from a 7 km egg will not. So, while fans are out encountering, they should also make sure to gather and incubate eggs.
• Fast Catching: There’s a fast-catch trick in Pokémon GO that allows players to skip the Pokeball capture animation, thus speeding up the catching process and saving time between encounters.
