Shiny Terrakion is returning to Pokémon GO for players to find and catch during a raid. After every few weeks, the Pokémon participating in Raid Battles are cycled out. Raid Battles in Pokémon GO are communal events in which players are given the opportunity to work together to defeat and capture a stronger version of a Pokémon. Players can find and catch Darkrai in Pokémon GO since it is currently taking over the Five-Star Raid Battles. It will be replaced within the upcoming weeks with Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion, and all three of these additionally come with a chance to capture their Shiny versions.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

The legendary trio from the Unova region, and potentially their Shiny versions, will take over Five-Star Raid Battles from Friday, November 5, 2021, to Tuesday, November 16, 2021. Any of these Pokémon caught during this time period will know the move Sacred Sword. This move was originally exclusive for Terrakion, Virizion, and Cobalion up until the sixth generation. Players will need to defeat Terrakion in a Raid Battle to determine whether it is in Shiny form and add one to their collection.

Players can join raids using one of their regular or Remote Raid Passes. If players are running low, they may be able to get free remote raid passes in Pokémon GO through the Item Shop. The pass will allow players to participate in the raid. Terrakion’s Shiny form will appear after the player defeats Terrakion in battle. If it’s Shiny, it will appear with a new design and sparkles around its body. Since this is a Five-Star Raid Battle, it is suggested for players to work together in teams of five. Any fewer will make this battle much more difficult. Fortunately, Terrakion is a Rock/Fighting-type Pokémon with weaknesses for Fighting, Ground, Steel, Water, Grass, Fairy, and Psychic-type moves. Players should bring Pokémon with these move types to counter Terrakion in the Raid Battle.

The Best Terrakion Raid Counters in Pokemon Go

Some of the best Pokémon and moves to bring during a Terrakion Five-Star Raid Battle in Pokémon GO include:

  • Mewtwo: Confusion and Psystrike.
  • Metagross: Zen Headbutt and Meteor Mash.
  • Latios: Zen Headbutt and Psychic.
  • Conkeldurr: Counter and Dynamic Punch.
  • Kyorge: Waterfall and Surf.
  • Groudon: Mud Shot and Earthquake.

Players can also bring along Mega Evolutions like Mega Blastoise and Mega Venusaur if they find Mega Energy in Pokémon GO. Mega Evolutions are some of the best counters in the game overall. All of these Pokémon take advantage of Terrakion’s weaknesses with incredibly high stats and power. However, players can prioritize bringing any Pokémon who can counter those weaknesses.

After the battle is over, Pokémon GO will transition players to the capturing phase. This is where they will notice if Terrakion is Shiny or not. If it isn’t Shiny, players can simply head to the next raid and repeat the process. It’s ultimately a game of luck to find a Shiny Terrakion during the capturing phase. All three legendaries of Unova will be cycled out for another legendary Pokémon starting on November 16th.
