SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Alolan Rattata made its debut back in Pokemon Sun and Moon. When that game initially released, Pokemon Go did a tie-in event where the Alolan forms of new Pokemon were introduced into the game first before any other unique Pokemon from the Alola region. Even though this happened several years ago, new Alolan Pokemon have yet to be introduced yet. The Spotlight Hour gives players the special chance to capture a ton of Alolan Rattata. This guide will show players how they can prepare for this event.

How To Prepare For Alolan Rattata Spotlight Hour in Pokemon Go

Alolan Rattata Spotlight Hour will take place on May 18th from 6 pm to 7 pm local time. Here is how players can prepare for this event.

  • Find That Shiny: Shiny Alolan Rattata is available in the game and this is your best chance to find one. Make sure to tap on a Pokemon, leave, and repeat until you encounter it. It will have a red color to it.
  • Hold Off On Evolving: During this Spotlight Hour, players will be able to earn twice the XP for evolving Pokemon so save on evolving those Pokemon until the event to maximize your options.
  • Lucky Egg: Since you’ll be catching tons of Pokemon, try and save a Lucky Egg until this event. Tons of Alolan Rattata will be spawning, allowing players to capture tons of Pokemon during the event.
  • Star Piece: Similar to the Lucky Egg, players will want to use a Star Piece to double the amount of Stardust they get.

Pokemon Go has tons for players to experience in the month of May. The final Spotlight Hour will be focused on Marill. Make sure to pay close attention to the in-game news in case anything changes.
