Mega Lopunny is currently active in Raid Battles in Pokémon Go. Bringing along the best Pokémon to counter it will make the Pokémon much easier to defeat. With Raid Battles, they range from one start difficulty to five. In the case of Mega Evolution Raids, these are in an entirely separate category of their own. Instead of being able to capture the Mega Evolved Pokémon, the player is instead rewarded with Mega Energy for their own Pokémon. Mega Evolving a Pokémon will change its design and stats for about eight hours.

Since trainers aren’t able to keep a Pokémon in their Mega Evolution form for long, many trainers only focus on collecting Mega Energy to win battles. It’s also valuable to save Mega Energy for a special event like a Community Day. Since Mega Energy only lasts for a few hours in Pokémon Go, aligning it with an event will help players take advantage of the Pokémon’s boosted attack power. In the case of Lopunny, its Mega Evolution transforms it from a mono-Normal-type to a Normal/Fighting-type.

The best counters to use when battling Mega Lopunny in Pokémon Go will be Pokémon with its weaknesses. Mega Lopunny is weak to Fighting, Fighting, Psychic, and Fairy-type attacks. Since this is a Mega Raid, it’s recommended to participate with at least four other players, any less might make the battle too difficult to complete.

Best Lopunny Raid Counters in Pokémon Go

These Pokémon should be included to counter Mega Lopunny in Pokémon Go.

  • Mewtwo: Confusion and Psystrike.
  • Hoopa: Confusion and Psychic.
  • Latios: Zen Headbutt and Psychic.
  • Lugia: Extrasensory and Aeroblast.
  • Conkeldurr: Counter and Dynamic Punch.
  • Moltres: Wing Attack and Sky Attack.
  • Lucario: Counter and Aura Sphere.

Once the battle is over, trainers will be given the chance to capture a regular Lopunny. It does have a chance to appear in its Shiny form which makes its fur pink instead of tan. It’s important to mention that Mega Lopunny will only be available in Raid Battles for a limited time. Trainers looking to grind out as much Mega Lopunny Energy will need to participate in as many as possible before they’re rotated out.

Mega Evolutions have their own section in the Pokédex that just looks nice when it’s checked off. Currently, Pokémon Go is hosting its Festival of Colors event, debuting Oricorio as one of the game’s newest inclusions. The event is scheduled to conclude on Sunday, March 20th and when it does, all of the special bonuses, spawns, and field research bonuses will be changed. It’s likely the moment Mega Lopunny will also be removed.

Pokémon Go is available now on iOS and Android.
