The Pokémon Go Mountains of Power event features its own Timed Research Tasks and rewards. Like all the ones to come before it, trainers are pushed to complete these tasks before the event is over. These are only available for a short period of time and once the event concludes, all the tasks and rewards will go along with it. Currently, the Mountains of Power event is focusing heavily on Pokémon that appear in mountainous regions. This includes Pokémon like Geodude, Zubat, Nosepass, and many more.

The Mountains of Power event continues to the story of the Season of Heritage. Players team up with Sparks to find the second mechanism to unlock a mysterious door. As trainers explore the mountains to find this key, they will explore the mountains to find Rock and Steel-type Pokémon. There’s even a chance to get a Shiny Slugma in Pokémon Go through this event. The Mountains of Power takes place Friday, January 7, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to Thursday, January 13, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

The Mountains of Power event is setting the stage for the upcoming Pokémon Go Johto Tour. This is a premium event where every Johto Pokémon has the chance of appearing Shiny. Last year, Niantic hosted a Kanto Tour event where they did the same thing but with the first 151 Pokémon. This event will take place at the end of February. To participate, players will need to purchase a ticket beforehand. It’s arguably one of the biggest events to happen in Pokémon Go for the year and will give players to chance to earn exclusive rewards. The ticket costs about $11.99 USD and will give players access to the full event when it begins. Until then, there’s likely one more event between the Mountains of Power and Johto Tour to connect them both.

Pokémon Go is available now on iOS and Android.
