Pokémon GO: Search For Zarude Special Research Tasks (& Rewards)

The ‘Search for Zarude’ is the newest Special Research task to join Pokemon Go. Special Research tasks function as the game’s main way of tellings its story. Typically, Professor Willow discovers something about a new Pokemon joining the game, and will task players with missions to help discover more about them. This time around, players will be able to complete the ‘Search for Zarude’ to find the newest Mythical Pokemon to join the series. On October 8th, Pokemon will release their newest film on Netflix starring Zarude as one of the main characters, to celebrate this release, players can earn crossover content while the event is active.

The ‘Search for Zarude’ Special Research is different since players will only be able to claim it for a limited time. At any point from October 1st at 10 am to October 10th at 8 pm, players can log into the game to unlock the ‘Search for Zarude’ Special Research. Players can then complete this challenge at any time.

This Pokemon Go Special Research is broken up into 5 different stages. Players looking to grab all of the rewards will want to clear this out as quickly as possible. The final challenge is the chance to capture the Mythical Pokemon, Zarude. This is what players need to do to unlock them.

Search For Zarude Special Research Tasks and Rewards in Pokemon Go

• Stage 1/5: Catch 7 different species of Pokémon – 1 Sun Stone, Catch 7 Pokémon – Diglett encounter, Take 3 snapshots of wild Ground-type Pokémon – 15 Poké Balls. Rewards: 250 Stardust, 10 Nanab Berries, and a Drilbur encounter.
• Stage 2/5: Make 5 Great Throws in a row – Pinap Berries, Catch 10 Bug-type Pokémon – Dwebble encounter, Take 3 snapshots of wild Bug-type Pokémon – 10 Great Balls. Rewards: 250 Stardust, 10 Razz Berries, and a Combee encounter.
• Stage 3/5: Use 20 Berries to help catch Pokémon – Sunny Cherrim encounter, Catch 30 Grass or Bug-type Pokémon – Vileplume encounter, Take 3 snapshots of wild Grass-type Pokémon – 10 Great Balls. Rewards: 500 Stardust, 10 Pinap Berries, and a Nuzleaf encounter.
• Stage 4/5: Defeat 6 Team Go Rocket Grunts – Ariados encounter, Catch 15 Pokémon with Weather Boost – Butterfree encounter,
• Take 3 snapshots of wild Flying-type Pokémon – 10 Ultra Balls. Rewards: 500 Stardust, 1 Poffin, and a Rufflet encounter.
• Stage 5/5: Claim Rewards: 3000 XP, 1000 Stardust, 10 Zarude candy, and a Zarude encounter.

Zarude will come along with 10 candy to help players power him up in Pokemon Go. If the player is lucky, their Zarude might have 4-stars during their appraisal. This Pokemon will likely return to Pokemon Go in the future, through another Special Research.
