Would-be Pokémon trainers won’t have to journey too far past their homes to spot their favorite collectible critters, as now there’s a cute batch of Pokémon-themed Garden Gnomes available that fans can plant all over their own backyards. Nintendo’s long-running monster-training JRPG franchise has spawned plenty of fun tie-in merchandise over the past 25 years to go along with the massively successful video games and the still-running anime series.

While most of these tie-in products consist of the expected Pokémon toys and highly sought-after trading cards (which have become something of a rare commodity in light of the recent COVID-19 pandemic), there have been some truly wild Pokémon merch that goes well outside the box. The internet is filled with tales of web streamers buying oversized Mareep plushies for their girlfriends, and Nabisco recently partnered up with Nintendo for some Pokémon-flavored Oreos.

Now, the Pokémon merchandise and fan news website Pokémon Center is selling special Pokémon-themed Garden Gnomes for any aspiring Grass-type trainers out there. These fun ceramic critters include the Gen 1 starters (Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle), the plantlike Oddish and Maractus, and of course three different variations of series mascot Pikachu – including one that’s sitting atop a mole-like Diglett. Each of these Gnomes can be purchased online for $32.99.

Pokémon is currently celebrating two major milestones this year: the 5th year of the popular mobile phone spin-off Pokémon GO and the 25th anniversary of the franchise overall. To commemorate, Nintendo is carrying out several fan events all summer long, such as the recent Bidoof Day late last week. Pokémon GO is also hosting several Spotlight Hour events throughout July, with the first one being dedicated to (appropriately enough) the very first Pokémon on the official listings, the aforementioned Bulbasaur.

These new Pokémon-themed lawn ornaments are nicely detailed and painted, looking very much like the classic pocket monsters leaped out of a player’s Nintendo Switch and into their own backyard just waiting to be captured by an upstart trainer – or at least keep watch over their flowers. The lack of a standalone Diglett and the line’s overabundance of Pikachu are a little odd, but these Gnomes could be a fun way to spice up a Pokémon fan’s garden or greenhouse in time for the franchise’s 25th anniversary. The Pokémon Center’s Pokémon Garden Gnomes are now available to purchase on their website.
