The best moveset for Overqwil in Pokémon Legends: Arceus will take advantage of the Pokémon’s Poison and Dark-typing. While there is no competitive, PvP available in the game, many of the later bosses can be pretty challenging. After completing the main story and unlocking access to the postgame, trainers will be tasked to hit research level 10 for every Pokémon. Doing this will give players the Shiny Charm item and access to the Arceus boss battle. Although to reach this point, it’s important to have the strongest Pokémon available.

Those looking to add Overqwil to their team will need to first capture a Hisuian Qwilfish in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Although, there is an Alpha Overquil that trainers will encounter throughout the story. It will appear in Lake Valor of the Crimson Mirelands. It isn’t mandatory to catch it during this encounter, but it’s much easier than trying to evolve it. After obtaining one, giving it the best moves will help it thrive in battle.

Since Overqwil is a Dark and Poison-type Pokémon, it’s weak to Ground-type attacks but completely immune to Psychic-type attacks. Out of all of its stats, its physical attack is the highest of the bunch. If players go to the Training Grounds with a Seed of Mastery, they’ll be able to master any move for their Pokémon instantly. Not only that, but it’s possible to purchase new moves for Overqwil at the same location.

• Aqua Tail: The user attacks by swinging its tail as if it were a vicious wave in a raging storm.
• Barb Barrage: The user launches countless toxic barbs to inflict damage. This may also poison the target. This move’s power is doubled if the target has a status condition.
• Dark Pulse: The user releases a horrible aura imbued with ill intent. This attack never misses.
• Poison Jab: The target is stabbed with a tentacle, arm, or the like steeped in poison. This may also poison the target.

Poison Jab and Barb Barrage are both physical attacks that are also Poison-type, activating the Same-Type-Attack-Bonus for extra damage. While Dark Pulse is a special move instead, it never misses and still does decent damage. This move’s Strong Style will likely take down any enemy within one or two hits. It’s important to prepare for the battle against Volo and Giratina in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. They are incredibly difficult, but Overqwil can be useful in bringing it down.
