Scizor can be captured in Pokémon Legends: Arceus and can be a vital addition to any team with a proper moveset. While Scyther did receive a new evolution in this entry with Kleavor, the Rock- and Bug-type Pokémon, Scizor is the original Scyther evolution. Debuting in Pokémon Gold and Silver, the second generation entry of the series, trainers were able to give their Scyther the Metal Coat Held Item while trading it to get it to evolve. As a result, it’s grown to be a popular choice for many players’ casual or competitive Pokémon runs. In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, there are a handful of different ways to obtain one.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

First, the trainer can capture a Scyther in Pokémon Legends: Arceus over in Obsidian Fieldlands. They will appear in the Grandtree Arena after the player has defeated the Noble Kleavor in battle. Return to this location had they will be wandering about nearby. The evolution method is still the same as all the other games. Give Scyther the Metal Coat and trade it with another player to evolve it into Scizor. Although, Scizor does have the chance to appear in Space-Time Distortions in Alabaster Icelands. They’ll be a bit more hostile, but there’s no need to hunt for a Metal Coat this way.

After obtaining a Scizor, the superior evolution to choose from instead of Kleavor, the best moveset to give it are Air Slash, Close Combat, Iron Head, and X-Scissor. Scizor is a Pokémon that has its Physical Attack stat shine above all the rest. Its Physical Defense stat is right behind it, but the rest is fairly underwhelming. Otherwise, this means Scizor can do a ton of damage while receiving it as well. It’s important to mention that this Pokémon has a massive weakness to Fire-type attacks. Remove Scizor from battle immediately whenever those types of Pokémon appear.

The Best Scizor Moveset in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

  • Air Slash: The user attacks with a blade of air that slices even the sky.
  • Close Combat: The user fights the target up close, inflicting damage without guarding itself. This also lowers the user’s defensive stats.
  • Iron Head: The user slams the target with its steel-hard head.
  • X-Scissor: The user slashes at the target by crossing its scythes or claws as if they were a pair of scissors. This move has a heightened chance of landing a critical hit.

X-Scissor is easily the must-have move for Scizor. Since it’s a Bug-type move, it will be given a Same-Type-Attack-Bonus for sharing the same typing with Scizor. Not only that, but X-Scissor is the strongest physical Bug-type move in the game. It’s almost like it was made for Scizor. Unfortunately, there is no PvP available for trainers to try out these moveset combinations. They’ll need to wait until Pokémon Scarlet and Violet in order to do that. Until then, a competent Scizor will make it much easier to get through some of the postgame challenges.
