In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, the Dark-Ice type Weavile can be a powerful addition to a team, and players will want to have the best moveset to maximize its potential. Weavile is the evolved form of Sneasel. Of note, players will need to find the original Sneasel and not Hisuian Sneasel if they hope to evolve it into Weavile instead of Sneasler. Both Sneasel and Weavile share a typing, and most of their best moves are within their Dark-Ice type to benefit from the same type attack bonus.

Players can only obtain a wild original Sneasel by finding one in a Space-time Distortion in Obsidian Fieldlands. Original Sneasel has a fairly low catch rate, so players may need to grind before finding the dark blue and clawed Pokémon. Once players obtain a Sneasel, they can evolve it into Weavile using the item Razor Claw in Pokémon Legends: Arceus during the night. Players can purchase a Razor Claw in Jubilife Village at the Trading Post for 1,400 Merit Points or find one in a Space-time Distortion. Additionally, some wild Sneasel holds a Razor Claw when players catch them.

To use their Weavile most effectively in battle, players should note that Dark-type Pokémon are weak to Bug, Fairy, and Fighting-type Pokémon. Meanwhile, Ice-type attacks are super effective against Dragon-, Flying-, Grass-, and Ground-type Pokémon. Additionally, Dark-type moves are super effective against Ghost- and Psychic-type Pokémon. However, Ice-type Pokémon are the weakest to Fighting-, Fire-, Rock-, and Steel-type moves. Therefore, to get the most from the Weavile on their team in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, players should use the moves Blizzard, Night Slash, Poison Jab, and Slash.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus – Weavile’s Best Moveset

Blizzard is an Ice-type move with 70 Accuracy, 165 Power, and 5 PP. Weavile can learn the move Blizzard when it reaches level 43, and it will master this skill at level 54. Additionally, Blizzard has a chance of causing the opposing Pokémon to experience frostbite, which will damage the opposing Pokémon each turn and reduce its Special Attack stat. As an Ice-type move, Blizzard is super effective against Dragon, Flying, Grass, and Ground-type Pokémon. With only 5 PP, players should use this move sparingly if they need to complete multiple battles in a row. Furthermore, players can craft in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, the item Elixir, to restore depleted PP.

Night Slash is a Dark-type move with 100 Accuracy, 105 Power, and 15 PP. Weavile can learn Night Slash as early as level 38 and master the move at level 49. Additionally, Night Slash has a higher than average of potentially landing a Critical Hit. As a Dark-type move, Night Slash is super effective against Ghost and Psychic-type Pokémon.

Poison Jab is a Poison-type move with 100 Accuracy, 80 Power, and 20 PP. This move also has a chance to inflict poison as a status condition on the opposing Pokémon, which will continue to cause damage. Weavile in Pokémon Legends: Arceus will learn Poison Jab once it reaches level 25 and masters this move at level 35. Because this is a Poison-type move, it is most effective against Fairy and Grass-type Pokémon.

Finally, Slash is a Normal-type move with 100 Accuracy, 70 Power, and 20 PP. Slash is learned as early as level 18 and is mastered at level 28. In addition to having relatively high Power and PP, Slash also has a higher chance of landing a Critical Hit than most moves. Unfortunately, because of Slash’s typing, this move is not super effective against any specific type of Pokémon.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is available for the Nintendo Switch.
