Fans of Pokémon Legends: Arceus are sharing photos captured during gameplay, showcasing the game’s beautiful graphical changes and humorous glitches. Unlike the top-down style of older Pokémon games or the limited camera angles of recent games like Sword and Shield, Pokémon Legends: Arceus allows players a panoramic, 360 degrees view of the Hisui region’s explorable areas. The new angles, mixed with the game’s updated 3D graphics and interactive Pokémon models, give players numerous ways to capture stunning pictures using the screencap function on the Nintendo Switch.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus has introduced a new style of gameplay for Pokémon games, with the Hisui region’s map broken up into five explorable, wild locations, and the small town of Jubilife Village. Previous games required players to stay in motion, moving from town to town via routes, with no clear base to return to. While Sword and Shield began introducing the concept of open-world-inspired gameplay in Galar, the Wild Area is small and limited compared to the exploration capable in the areas of Hisui’s map. These locations, filled with wild Pokémon, offer a number of photo opportunities for players.

In a post shared by the Pokémon Twitter page, fans have been encouraged to share their adventures, stating, “You’ve received the Celestica Flute and summoned a special Pokémon that allows you to gallop across the land, cross bodies of water, or soar through the skies—what do you see?” While it appears the post was intended for images of Ride Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, players have also added pictures of everything from funny glitches to majestic shots of their player characters posed with different outfits. Twitter user RyedanGristwood even managed to pose the Legendary Pokémon Palkia and Dialga as if they are kissing.

Posts like these showcase one of the biggest improvements Pokémon Legends: Arceus brings to the series – personalization. Players can now truly interact with their Pokémon and the environments while playing. The change from Pokémon as nothing more than battling sprites to creatures that can be observed and interacted with in the wild creates a more immersive experience for fans. In turn, that allows a deeper connection with the Pokémon on a team and encouraging creative expression while playing. Additionally, funny glitches like a Gible stuck in a tree are more fun to share and are more noticeable and humorous in an environment where all Pokémon have different personalities.

Players have also been sharing their best Alpha Pokémon Catches in Pokémon Legends: Arceus in another Twitter post, with photos illustrating how comically large certain species are when caught as Alphas. The posts include the towering, Shiny Zorua as well as the terrifyingly huge Alpha Ursaring. With so many different Pokémon to catch in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, sharing special moments in gameplay via social media is a unique way to connect with other players around the world.
