Pokémon Legends: Arceus introduced lots of new regional Hisuian forms, and the Gen VI Ice-Type Bergmite has a brand new Hisuian evolution as its final form. Hisuian Avalugg is featured as one of the Noble Pokémon that trainers face as they progress through Legends: Arceus’ main story, but they can add this Ice/Rock-Type Pokémon to their Pokédex by evolving Bergmite. Trainers can also catch a Hisuian Avalugg in the wild, but it isn’t guaranteed to spawn, so evolving a Bergmite can make adding this new Hisuian form to the Pokédex much easier.

Unlike the other new Hisuian evolution forms in Pokémon Legends: Arceus like Wyrdeer and Basculegion, Hisuian Avalugg doesn’t have any special evolution conditions and can instead be evolved through leveling. Trainers will simply have to train their Bergmite until it reaches level 37 before it can evolve into Hisuian Avalugg. However, unlike previous games in the Pokémon series, Pokémon do not evolve automatically once their evolution requirements are met, and trainers will have to evolve their Bergmite manually through the Satchel or Pasture menu.

As an Ice-Type, Bergmite is weak to Fighting, Rock, Steel, and Fire-Type moves, but it’s resistant to Ice-Type attacks. Hisuian Avalugg’s Ice/Rock-Type, on the other hand, makes it weak to Fighting, Steel, Rock, Ground, Water, and Grass-Types but resistant against Ice, Normal, Flying, and Poison Types. While Hisuian Avalugg’s low Special Defense stat can make it vulnerable in battle, its high HP and Attack stats make it a tank of a physical Attacker that can withstand a lot of damage.

Where To Find Bergmite In Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Bergmite is a common Pokémon that can be found at several locations in the Alabaster Icelands area of Pokémon Legends: Arceus. However, Bergmite appears most frequently at the Avalugg’s Legacy area of the map, and players can find this Pokémon hanging around near the giant pillar of ice where they battle Gaeric during “The Slumbering Lord of the Tundra” Story Mission. This friendly Pokémon won’t attack players or try to run away if it spots them approaching, making it easy to simply run up to it and throw a Poké Ball, though Bergmite may be provoked to attack if it breaks loose.

Once trainers have successfully caught a Bergmite, they’ll just need to train it until it reaches level 37 before it’s ready to evolve. Fortunately, the Bergmite that can be caught in the Alabaster Icelands area of Pokémon Legends: Arceus are usually around level 30, so it won’t be long before Bergmite is ready to transform into Hisuian Avalugg. Trainers can also speed up the leveling process by feeding their Bergmite Rare Candies and Exp. Candies, which can be bought in Jubilife Village or earned by completing Requests and defeating Alpha Pokémon.
