Hisuian Qwilfish is a Dark and Poison-type in Pokémon Legends: Arceus that evolves into Overqwil once it uses a specific Move. Hisuian Qwilfish naturally resides in or near areas with large bodies of water, such as regions within the Cobalt Coastlands. Such locations include Tranquility Cove, Lunker’s Lair, and Islespy Shore. Trainers can also encounter Hisuian Qwilfish at Ramanas Island of the Obsidian Fields in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. If the Qwilfish are out in the water, players will need to have the Basculegion Mount to reach them.

To evolve Hisuian Qwilfish into Overqwil in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Trainers will need to have the Hisuian Qwilfish use the Strong Style of the “Barb Barrage” Move 20 times during battle. Keep in mind that the Qwilfish must be Level 15 to learn Barb Barrage and attain Level 25 to master the Move. Mastery of a Move in Pokémon Legends: Arceus allows a Pokémon to switch between the Agile Style and the Strong Style of a specific Move. The Agile Style will increase the Speed of the Pokémon’s Move but decrease the damage, while the Strong Style will do the opposite.

For clarification, the Hisuian Qwilfish must only use Barb Barrage’s Strong Style in Pokémon Legends: Arceus to fulfill its evolution requirement. The leveling and Move mastery procedure will require the Trainer to continuously use their Hisuian Qwilfish in combat along Barb Barrage equipped in its moveset. Yet, there are a few ways to quicken the process.

Evolving Hisuian Qwilfish in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

For under-leveled Hisuian Qwilfish, Trainers can quickly farm EXP by feeding it Exp. Candy variants or Rare Candies. As its name implies, Rare Candy is quite rare and expensive to come by in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. On the other hand, Exp. Candy can be farmed more freely through a particular technique. The best way to procure EXP Candy is to hunt down Alpha Chansey or Blissey. These two Pokémon provide a good deal of XP and potentially drop Exp. Candy. One excellent spawn point for Alpha Chansey is the biggest island of Tombolo Walk in the Cobalt Coastlands in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Moreover, an Alpha Blissey can be found on the hillside northeast of Obsidian Falls in the Obsidian Fieldlands.

Alternatively, Trainers can give their Hisuian Qwilfish a Seed of Mastery to instantly master its Barb Barrage Move to utilize its Strong Style. These seeds can be obtained from certain Pokémon drops or by completing Request 51, “Coming Up Roses.” To fulfill this quest, players must bring Hiemo, who can be found on Ramanas Island, a Scyther Pokémon.
