In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, players can find more powerful variations of their favorite Pokémon in the form of Alpha Pokémon, including the likes of Alpha Infernape. Alpha Pokémon are not more powerful than others because of their base stats, but instead, they’re more powerful because they have higher Effort Levels than other members of their species after players catch them. Additionally, Alpha Pokémon will know or can learn an extra move or two, whereas normal members of the species do not have access to those particular moves.

Players can find all sorts of Alpha Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus by exploring every location in every area of the Hisui region. Sometimes, more than one Alpha Pokémon can be found in close proximity to another. Since Alpha Pokémon have higher Effort Levels than other Pokémon found in the wild in addition to their significantly higher level, players may find that catching any Alpha Pokémon can be an overwhelming challenge. When it comes to Alpha Infernape, in particular, its high Speed and offensive stats make it exceptionally challenging to capture, as it can quickly make Pokémon faint with Agile and Strong style attacks.

Alpha Infernape is, unfortunately, inaccessible for a long time in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, as it can only be found on Ramanas Island in the Obsidian Fieldlands. To reach Ramanas Island, players will first have to acquire the ability to use Basculegion, one of the ride Pokémon in Legends: Arceus alongside Braivary, Sneasler, Wyrdeer, and Ursaluna. Ramanas Island is a remote location inhabited by Alpha Infernape, Chimchar, Aipom, Gastradon, and a few more Pokémon, so players will need to move with stealth, so they do not draw attention to themselves. Aipom and Chimchar will not attack on sight, but Staravia and Alpha Infernape won’t hesitate to attack players as soon as they are spotted by the Pokémon.

Catching an Alpha Infernape in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Alpha Infernape can be found on level 65 and is guaranteed to know Close Combat, Flare Blitz, and Raging Fury, in addition to a move unique to the Alpha version. There are plenty of tall grass locations around Alpha Infernape, so players should have an easier time sneaking up to it and catching it off guard with either a Pokémon battle or an Ultra Ball. Ultra Balls are needed to catch the Alpha Infernape, and they can only be crafted once players reach Star Rank level six in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

Like all other Pokémon, Alpha Infernape will have a random nature that can benefit or hinder the Pokémon tremendously. Since all Infernapes have the same Attack and Special attack stats in addition to a high-Speed stat, players have some versatility in finding the perfect Alpha Infernape. Ideally, however, players should look for a Jolly or Adamant Alpha Infernape, simply because its Fire- and Fighting-type moves can take advantage of both natures. In contrast, a Modest or Timid nature would benefit Fire-type moves only.
