It is possible to capture a Cresselia in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Initially making its debut in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, Cresselia is the second half of the Lunar Duo from the Sinnoh region. While Darkrai is known to spread darkness and nightmares, Cresselia is known to heal those nightmares with its Lunar Wing. Since Pokémon Legends: Arceus takes place in an ancient version of the Sinnoh region, every legendary from there is present. Although, trainers will have to wait until they have completed the main story to find Cresselia.

Cresselia is a Psychic-type Pokémon, making it weak to Ghost, Dark, and Bug-type attacks. Since the only ability this Pokémon can know is Levitate, it is completely immune to all Ground-type attacks. Not only that, but it also resists Fighting and Psychic-type moves. Trainers looking to unlock the Shiny Charm in Pokémon Legends: Arceus need to capture Cresselia first. Fortunately, the Pokédex only requires players to capture every Pokémon. There’s no need to max out its individual research level.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

To find Cresselia in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, trainers will need to speak with Cogita after clearing the main campaign. She will have a long list of optional quests that lead to a variety of legendary Pokémon. Choose Missions 23: The Plate of Moonview Arena to begin this journey, head over to Coronet Highlands and walk to Moonview Arena. A cutscene will activate with Warden Melli and it concludes with the player character being taken to the arena where Cresselia is residing.

Defeating Cresselia in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Like the other noble Pokémon of the Hisui region in Arceus, Cresselia will need to have its shield taken down before trainers can use their Pokémon in battle. The trick with this battle is that if the player gets too close, their controls will be reversed due to Cresselia’s powers. The best way to combat this is to completely turn the controller upside down. This is especially useful when playing with Joycons. After the shield has been broken, send out a Pokémon with Bug, Dark, or Ghost-type moves to attack.

These will all be super effective, making its HP drop to red or yellow. To prevent doing too much damage, switch to Arceus‘ Agile Style on the attack. This will cause it to come out faster but do less damage, making it easier to lower its HP without making it faint. Continue to throw as many Pokéballs as possible until Cresselia is caught. Capturing it will reward trainers with another Arceus Plate. These will be eventually used to change the typing of the titular Pokémon, Arceus.
