Pokémon Legends: Arceus – How To Find (& Catch) Oshawott

Although Oshawott is the Water-type starter option in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, players can find and catch multiple Oshawott, later on, to help complete their Pokédex research. Like Rowlet and Cyndaquil, Oshawott is a Pokémon that previously had a different final evolution in games before Pokémon Legends: Arceus. While research upon Oshawott and its evolutionary line show that evolving in the Hisui region affected Samurott only, Oshawott can still be found and captured in its Unovaian form once players beat and complete the Pokémon Legends: Arceus story.

For players who chose either Rowlet or Cyndaquil as their starter Pokémon, they can easily acquire an Oshawott from Professor Laventon immediately after beating the main story in Legends: Arceus. This Oshawott will be the same Pokémon introduced at the beginning of the game that has been staying inside the Professor’s office ever since one of the other two starter Pokémon was chosen. To receive Oshawott, speak with Professor Laventon after beating the main story of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and he’ll reward players with the Water-type Pokémon. Additionally, he’ll also give players the remaining Pokémon in the lab as well that wasn’t chosen.

Finding and catching Oshawott is much more complicated than receiving it from Professor Laventon, however, but it is accessible to all players regardless of the starter they chose in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. While players can use their starter Oshawott or the one given to them by Professor Laventon to complete most of the Pokédex research, a total of five Oshawott will need to be captured in order to ensure the entry is complete. To find and catch Oshawott, players will need to journey to Alabaster Icelands once the Pokémon Legends: Arceus story is complete.

Where To Catch Oshawott In Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Finding and catching Oshawott in Pokémon Legends: Arceus is about when it can be found just as much as it is where it can be found. Like many other rare Pokémon, the only place an Oshawott can be found is during a Space-Time Distortion in Pokémon Legends: Arceus that specifically takes place in the Alabaster Icelands. However, not all Space-Time Distortions in Alabaster Icelands will have an Oshawott, nor will the Space-Time Distortions appear consistently. Furthermore, there is a less-likely chance of seeing a Space-Time Distortion if an outbreak is occurring in Alabaster Icelands as well.

In addition to Oshawott, players can expect to find both Dewott and Hisuian Samurott in the Alabaster Icelands Space-Time Distortions as well, although they are just as rare of a find if not rarer. However, since breeding is impossible in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, players will need to find and catch Oshawott specifically in order to complete its research. Additionally, players may also find an Alpha Oshawott in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, or an Alpha variation of either of its evolved forms.
