Regigigas is one of the many legendaries found in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. From the very beginning, the game establishes the connection between the Hisui region and the Sinnoh region. The player character falls out of a large wormhole from the sky with no recollection of how they got there. Eventually, they join the Galaxy Team to help them uncover the mysteries of the region’s Pokémon. As trainers uncover more Pokémon, the Hisui region begins to open up with more Pokémon encounters. When it comes to Regigigas, trainers will have to wait until they have access to the post-game.

Regigigas is a Normal-type legendary Pokémon that made its debut back in the original Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. Just like in Legends: Arceus, Regigigas was only available after completing the main campaign. Trainers needed to find and capture Regirock, Registeel, and Regice in order to gain access to Snowpoint Temple, the location where Regigigas was resting. Its unique ability Slow Start prevents it from attacking for the first five turns. While this might seem like a weakness, it’s to balance Regigigas since it’s one of the strongest Pokémon available in the game.

In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, trainers will need to speak with Cogita in the Ancient Retreat. She’ll have a long list of legendary Pokémon-related research tasks available. For Regigigas, trainers will need to choose Research 24: The Plate of Snowpoint Temple. As the title implies, players will need to go to Snowpoint Temple, which is located in Alabaster Icelands. Head inside and there will be a door with three slots for Arceus Plates. Enter the Icicle, Iron, and Stone Plate to unlock the door, enter the room to begin the battle with Regigigas.

Capturing Regigigas in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Before entering the room in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, make sure to craft a ton of different Poké Balls. Regigigas will be available for capture from this encounter. Since Regigigas is a Normal-type Pokémon, it’s only weak to Fighting-type attacks. It’s recommended to bring Pokémon with Fighting-type moves, but be careful when using them. If the move is too powerful, it’s likely Regigigas will faint from the attack. Make sure to save before entering the room in case something like this happens.

Since this is a prequel story, Regigigas matches the lore developed in previous titles. When it was introduced in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, it was said that Regigigas is the one responsible for creating the legendary titans, Regirock, Regice, and Registeel. Since this takes place in the distant past, these Pokémon are not available in the game since Regigigas hasn’t created them yet. Regigigas is in exactly the same place in the past and present. Whenever Pokémon Home support is released for Pokémon Legends: Arceus will be the moment they can all be reunited.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is available now on Nintendo Switch.
