Pokémon Legends: Arceus – Steely Lucario Request Guide

For Request 88, “Steely Lucario,” in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, the player must face Rye in a Trainer battle with his partner, Lucario. To start the quest, trainers must interact with Lucario down in the Basement Level of the Galaxy Hall. Astonished by the player’s aura of strength, Lucario wishes to battle in the Training Grounds. Naturally, the Pokémon cannot speak in human language, so Rye from Legends: Arceus‘ Jubilife Village is the one who conveys its sentiment to the player.

Several steps are needed to unlock Request 88 in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. First, the Trainer must complete the seventeenth mission in the main questline, “Atop Mount Coronet.” This story mission becomes available once the player has cleared all the Lake Trials, which are also part of the main campaign. The first is Lake Verity, located in the Obsidian Fieldlands. Here, players must defeat an Alpha Hisuian Goodra to proceed. The second Trial is at Lake Valor in the Crimson Mirelands, where Trainers must fight an Alpha Overqwil. Lake Acuity of the Alabaster Icelands serves as the final Trial, with Alpha Hisuian Zoroark as the boss battle. Afterward, players must answer Uxie’s questions with “60131” to complete the mission.

Once Pokémon Legends: Arceus‘ three Lake Trials and “Atop Mount Coronet” Request have been completed, players can accept the “Steely Lucario” Request and head to the Training Grounds for the anticipated Trainer battle. The fight will be challenging, as Lucario will be at Level 62, which is relatively high at this point in the game. Therefore, players must ensure they send out Pokémon that take advantage of Lucario’s weaknesses.

How To Beat Steely Lucario in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Lucario is a Fighting and Steel-type Aura Pokémon, which is vulnerable to Fighting, Ground, and Fire-type moves. Hence, Pokémon such as Infernape, Garchomp, Landorus Therian, Magmortar, or Landorus will be highly effective in battle. On the other hand, players should refrain from using any Rock or Bug-type Pokémon since Lucario in Pokémon Legends: Arceus will make quick work of such matchups.

Once players beat “Steely Lucario” in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Rye will thank the player for the experience, offering a Grit Rock as a reward. The Grit Rock is an item that raises the Effort Level for a Pokémon’s stats. It should be noted that the rock can only be used if the Effort Level has already reached Level 9. Alternatively, if the player does not need the Grit Rock, they can sell the item to one of the merchants in Jubilife Village for ₽3,000.
