Weavile makes an appearance in Pokémon Legends: Arceus for trainers to catch as long as they know where to look. A handful of older Pokémon was given new forms with this brand new entry in the Pokémon series. For example, classic Pokémon like Voltorb were given Hisuian forms with their own unique designs and typing. Instead of being just another Electric-type, its Hisuian form transforms it into an Electric and Grass-type Pokémon. When it comes to the Sneasel family line, the Hisui region makes things a bit more complicated by hiding Weavile’s location in Legends: Arceus.

In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, there is a new Hisuian Sneasel that will evolve into Sneasler, an entirely new Pokémon. It’s a Fighting and Poison-type Pokémon that also works as one of the game’s many Mount Pokémon. In the case of Sneasler, it can be used to climb up vertical surfaces while exploring. In older titles, Sneasel would evolve into Weavile after being exposed to a Razor Claw. Trainers will need to find a Johtonian Sneasel first before they can obtain a Weavile in Legends: Arceus.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Johtonian Sneasel has a chance of appearing in Space-Time Distortions in Obsidian Fieldlands. The Space-Time Distortions will begin to appear around the map after defeating Kleavor in battle. They are giant purple bubbles and the game will notify the player whenever they appear on the map. Once they are active, Pokémon from different dimensions and time periods will begin to appear, including a Johtonian Sneasel. There is no definitive way to get a Space-Time Distortion to appear but it has to be in Obsidian Fieldlands, so players will just need to continue to explore the area and wait around until one appears.

Capturing Sneasel in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

After capturing Johtonian Sneasel, the player will just need to evolve it to get Weavile in Legends: Arceus. Fortunately, it’s the same exact method as it has been for several generations now. Sneasel will evolve into Weavile after being exposed to a Razor Claw. Pokémon Legends: Arceus offers tons of different ways to get this item. For starters, it can be purchased at the Trading Post in Jubilife Village using Merit Points.

Merit Points are rewarded to trainers for locating other players’ satchels in Legends: Arceus while exploring the wilds. The Razor Claw itself costs 1400 Merit Points but it’s also possible to find them by defeating wild Sneasel. After getting the Razor Claw, give it to Sneasel at night in order for it to evolve. If it’s not currently nightfall, players can return to a camp and change the time of day. While Weavile isn’t originally from the Hisui region, it is needed in order to complete the Hisuian Pokédex.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is available now on Nintendo Switch.
