In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, players will need to find a Leaf Stone, a rare evolutionary item, if they hope to evolve certain Grass-type Pokémon and work toward completing their Pokédex. There are multiple ways to find this item as players explore the Hisui Region, and players will want to find at least two to complete the two required evolutions for their Pokédex.

One of the easier in-game methods to find this evolutionary item is finding one from the Tumblestone ore in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. These ores are visible poking out of the ground, and players can send out their Pokémon to break the ore and obtain the various items inside. If the Tumblestone ore is sparkling, that indicates it contains a rare material, such as a potential Leaf Stone. However, if players search for other evolution stones, such as the Fire, Thunder, Oval, or Shiny Stones, they may want to spend their time searching ores as there are many rare and evolutionary items to find.

Players can also acquire a Leaf Stone from the Trading Post in Jubilife Village. However, purchasing a Leaf Stone from the Trading Post may require a lot of grinding, as it will cost 1,000 Merit Points. Unfortunately, players can only acquire Merit Points in Pokémon Legends: Arceus by returning Lost Satchels, which only average about 50 Merit Points per satchel. Another method to find the evolution stone is to search Space-time Distortions, but they do not have a high spawn rate. Additionally, a Leaf Stone can also be found hidden in piles of leaves in the Cobalt Coastlands or Crimson Mirelands.

Leaf Stone Quests and Pokémon It Evolves in Legends: Arceus

A much easier way to obtain the Leaf Stone is to complete the quest “Request #73, the Real Burmy.” Players will need to find one of each form of Burmy, Sand Cloak, Trash Cloak, and Plant Cloak to complete this request in Pokémon Legends: Arceus successfully. Players will encounter the wild green Plant Cloak Burmy in the Obsidian Fieldlands, specifically at Deertrack Path, Deertrack Heights, Nature’s Path, and Grueling Grove.

Meanwhile, the bright pink Trash Cloak Burmy is found roaming Cobalt Coastlands at Ginkgo Landing, Crossing Slope, Veilstone Cape, and Bather’s Lagoon. Finally, the soft yellow Sand Cloak Burmy is in the Crimson Mirelands near the Golden Lowlands, Gapejaw Bog, Cloudpool Ridge, and Shrouded Ruins. Once players find the three Burmy and show their Pokédex to Leif, Duna, and Tarush, they will be rewarded with the evolutionary item Leaf Stone and three medium EXP candy. Of note, players cannot unlock this request until they gain access to the Alabaster Icelands.

A Leaf Stone is required to evolve Voltorb into Hisuian Electrode in Pokémon Legends: Arceus and used to evolve Eevee into Leafeon. Players will simply need to select either Voltorb or Eevee to use the evolutionary item. Using an evolutionary item is the only way to acquire Hisuian Electrode or Leafeon, as these evolved forms cannot be caught in the wild. While obtaining Electrode requires the Leaf Stone, players can also evolve Eevee into Leafeon using a Moss Rock.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is now available for the Nintendo Switch.
