The Pose season 3 trailer is here, giving fans of the popular FX series a look at the big finale. Most of the stars of the past two seasons are returning for the last dance, including Mj Rodriguez, Indya Moore, Dominique Jackson, Billy Porter, Ryan Jamaal Swain, and Angel Bismark Curiel. The final season of Pose will begin airing on FX on May 2.

Set in the 1980s and early 1990s, Pose focuses on New York City’s Ballroom culture, where members of the city’s Black and Latinx LGBTQ+ communities compete in various dance, vogue, and runway competitions. The show follows the members of the House of Evangelista as they compete in the Balls and help each other through personal struggles of love and loss during the AIDS crisis. Pose has earned a number of accolades over the course of its first two seasons, including a nomination for Outstanding Drama Series at the 71st Primetime Emmy Awards.

It was recently announced that Pose’sthird season would also be its last, and fans can now get a glimpse of the show’s final run in a new trailer from FX. Season 3 looks like it will be filled with all the gorgeous style, stellar performances, and heavy emotion of the first two seasons, as the cast continues to celebrate each other at the Balls and fight back against public disregard for the AIDS epidemic. Watch the new Pose season 3 trailer below.

While Pose may be ending, its impact will hopefully remain. The series has been widely celebrated for championing Black and Latinx LGBTQ+ artists on both sides of the camera and for centering the experiences of trans women of color especially. Producer Janet Mock has earned particular praise for her creative influence on the series, and the overall success of Pose is hopefully indicative of positive movement toward more inclusive casting and storytelling in Hollywood.

Obviously, progress on that front is slow, and it’s understandable why so many of Pose’s dedicated fans are disappointed to see the series end after season 3. At the very least, the fact that season 3 was written with the end in mind will hopefully lead to a complete and satisfying conclusion. As one of the most groundbreaking and stunningly crafted TV shows of the past few years, the series deserves to go out with a bang. Pose returns to FX to begin airing its final season on May 2.
