A well-regarded Fortnite leaker has exposed files which hint at an upcoming crossover with Among Us. In recent years Epic Games’ popular battle royale shooter Fortnite has become known for collaborating with various different games, films and television shows. Among Us was originally released in 2018, but a spike in popularity made it one of the most popular games of 2020.

Epic Games’ Fortnite has crossed over with a huge number of different franchises in the past few years, ranging from television shows like The Walking Dead to comic book characters like Batman and Superman. The game even recently collaborated with pop star Ariana Grande with a special in-game skin and interactive concerts. Between August 6 and 8 Fortnite players will be able to tune into performances from Ariana Grande, with in-game music and visual spectacle to be experienced. Players can sign up for concerts before they begin through the game’s Rift Tour tab, and viewers are recommended to arrive an hour before the start of the show. While in-game concerts are a huge draw for many players, other Fortnite crossovers take the form of simple skins for players to equip. The latest characters to enter the battle royale world of Fortnite are Street Fighter‘s Guile and Cammy, both of whom are now available as cosmetics.

Reliable Fortnite leaker HYPEX recently revealed a number of in-game files which hint at an upcoming collaboration with Among Us. HYPEX discovered a file titled “Mole,” which may be related to Among Us‘ infamous shapeshifting Impostor. Keywords related to the Mole file also relate to mechanics found within the popular indie title such as Cafeteria, Tasks and Sabotage. However, other than these recently uncovered files, there is no concrete evidence that Among Us and Fortnite will be crossing over.

While Fortnite has become renowned for its collaborations, Among Us‘ sudden popularity has also led to a recent crossover with Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, a similarly popular indie title where players compete to finish a platforming obstacle course. Fall Guys recently received an Among Us skin, allowing players to jump and climb around while dressed as an iconic Among Us alien Impostor.

As two games with a history of promotional collaborations, it would not be surprising to see Fortnite and Among Us cross over in some fashion. While many Fortnite crossovers are simply cosmetic skins, the files discovered by HYPEX suggest that the game’s Among Us content may be a bit deeper. By combining battle royale and social deduction gameplay, a mix of the two games could be a truly unique experience.
