But after 7 seasons of wondering who A is and believing that some characters are evil and then learning that they have good intentions, viewers have some opinions about how the show could be different.

From whether Spencer should have an evil twin to ideas about who the final A should be, Reddit users have a lot of thoughts about how they would change Pretty Little Liars if they could focus on different storylines and add some more character development in certain cases.

10 The Liars Should Be Single In The Series Finale

After dramatic Pretty Little Liars season finales, fans knew that the last episode would be intense, fascinating, and wrap up loose ends. It also sees many happy endings for all of the couples as Aria and Ezra get married and Hanna and Caleb also tie the knot, then Hanna announces her pregnancy.

Reddit user thefreecontestant would change the series finale by having the major relationships end and “had all four Liars end the show independent, focusing on themselves and overcoming all that they’ve gone through.”

9 Toby Shouldn’t Be An A Team Member

Since Pretty Little Liars lasts for 7 seasons, there are many potential twists that turn out to be red herrings or big reveals that end up being different than they seem.

One Redditor would change the show so that “Toby was never on the A team.” Several viewers feel frustrated by this storyline. While Toby later explains that he’s an A Team member because he wants to protect Spencer, it would still make more sense if he never got involved at all. Toby is a kind person and fans don’t want to imagine him being evil.

8 Alison Should Be A

When the liars first receive unnerving text messages, they assume that Ali is stalking them since she knows their biggest secrets. While it works that Mona is the first A, fans don’t love how the story changes after that, and many viewers wish that Ali was the second A.

Reddit user jstitely1 thinks that after Mona is the first A, another character should take over. The fan wrote, “Alison is ‘A’ essentially trying to force the liars to find her. Then they abandon A and just have other mysteries.” It would definitely be fun to see the liars getting involved in other messy and wild storylines that don’t involve A.

7 Alison And Courtney Are Twins

There are many differences between the PLL books and TV show, and in the books by Sara Shepard, Ali is the character who has a twin.

Reddit user Melodic-Ad8198 thinks that the show should follow the book series storyline of “the Alison and Courtney evil twin situation.” The twin reveal is explained well and makes sense in the books, and it’s great to have a plot twist that focuses on Ali since she’s at the core of the story.

6 Expand The N.A.T. Club Storyline

Pretty Little Liars fans learn about the N.A.T. Club, which Garrett, Ian, and Jason run. It’s an incredibly creepy club as they spy on teenage girls in their bedrooms and actually film it.

While this club does come up at various times on the series, it’s sometimes forgotten about. One Redditor would “made the NAT club have a much bigger story.”

5 Caleb Should Stay With His Mom In California

After watching Caleb and Hanna fall in love, it’s important and heartwarming that Caleb gets his own family storyline when he learns where his mom is living. But even though Caleb stays with his mom for a while, he does come back to Rosewood.

Reddit user mooglemania thinks “Caleb leaves for California and doesn’t return” and “Stays with his mom.” While fans don’t want to say goodbye to Caleb because his relationship with Hanna is so special, it would make more sense for Caleb to at least spend more time in California for a season or so.

4 Change The Spencer/Alex Drake Storyline

While the PLL characters achieve a lot by the series finale, there is one major reveal that many fans can’t get behind: when viewers learn that Spencer has a twin named Alex Drake. Alex has been behind it all and while the show explains that she has been envious of Spencer this whole time, viewers don’t love this plotline.

Reddit user HPoutlandernerd thinks that the the show “suddenly introduce a new A in the laat episode…” and that it would make more sense if Spencer didn’t have an evil twin and someone else was A.

3 Tell Fans More About Bethany Young

When fans learn about Bethany Young, they realize that Melissa has a terrifying story to share: Melissa mistook Bethany for Ali and assumed that Spencer killed Ali. When Melissa buried Bethany when she wasn’t actually dead, Melissa wanted to be there for her sister.

Reddit user aninterpretativememory would love for the show to “Give Bethany Young a good backstory.” If Bethany is going to be part of such a big reveal, it would definitely be great to flesh out her character more.

2 Get Rid Of The Supernatural Storyline

There are some scary scenes on Pretty Little Liars, but not everyone likes when the show sets up the spin-off Ravenswood and starts talking about spirits and strange things that can’t be easily explained.

One Redditor doesn’t like when the series focuses on ghosts, writing that “the addition of a supernatural plot” was a problem. It makes sense that some fans feel this way as Rosewood is already a terrifying and creepy place to live.

1 Why Can’t Ted And Ashley Stay Together?

Ashley finally seems like she has found love again after her divorce when she falls in love with Ted, but unfortunately, he knows Mary Drake and fans learn that he’s up to no good.

Reddit user celtics5000 thinks that the show should have changed this plotline and wrote, “I would have had Ashley and Ted end up together.” Several viewers agreed that this couple should be able to work things out, as Ashley has suffered a lot and deserves happiness.
